Warren, bloody hell… I hoped for it, but I’m not sure I was expecting it. Top, top marks.

    I’ll second that!

I think I can speak for most affiliates and say it’s a welcome change to see two affiliate forums; CAP and AGD, not just speaking the speak but walking the walk too.

Thanks Warren, the CAP Team and AGD for doing the right thing!

Without support of affiliate forums these companies would have been able to pull this stunt without much impact. This way they get what they earn and I am glad to see CAP supporting this.

Roxy and Spiral have gone from fame to shame. More than a decade of reputation down the drain.

    Hi all,

In the case of Brightshare and others, the use of “industry standards” has been used to justify breaching our contract agreements. Thing is though, stealing players and commissions is not an accepted industry practice. In the case of Brightshare it’s anything but “Playing Fair, Sharing Success”.

At referback I receive a flat 40% commission and they don’t bundle. They really do share the success. And I’ll also add, a few months ago they paid me twice (yay) by accident. Shane my AM contacted me and included a spreedsheet showing the error. Now that’s how it should be but it seldom happens!

Lets look at what Brightshare gives – before retroactive changes were applied.

    • 25% standard base commission
    • All casinos bundled (Jackpot Factory Group operate these casinos separately but force affiliates to be incumbered by wins across the board)

NB – After the USA was dumped by MGS, a while later they (MGS) devised a cut down version of their games. Brightshare opened AllSlotsCasinoUSA and supposedly a new affiliate program ASUSA. They claimed all USA players were mapped to this new affiliate program. Well in typical Brightshare (Spiral Solutions) style that ended up being a total screw up too. To the point where it went belly up BUT not before Brightshare/ASUSA did a deal with with an RTG casino for all these USA players. On my understanding, tagged players to these affiliates have not received a dime from this under the table deal!

This is the caliber of eithics Brightshare and Spiral Solutions are married to.

My point to all this, when Brightshare/Spiral Solutions/Jackpot Factory Group come back begging to be reinstated, I think we as affiliates need to demand our agreements are aligned with accepted “industry standards” of 2013, that is:

    • No bundling
    • A minimum 35% base commission
    • No High Roller clauses
    • No decreases in base commission
    • No untagging players
    • No cross marketing with straight links
    • All social media links &/or outbound links maintain affiliate tag integrity

That’s just a few suggestions based on fair play and sharing success!

In closing, it’s time to stand up and stop being dictated to by wayward affiliate programs.

I do not see any reason to trust them again any time soon, no matter what they eventually decide to do. Brightshare have shown their true intentions. Nevertheless, it is still very sad that they have chosen this path as their reputation used to always be rather good than bad and their casinos performed well.

Albeit the trust factor has been distroyed with this decision. However, as it stands now, even if Brightshare reverse their retroactive changes, we’re back to sub-standard commissions and terms. These were fine back in 2001 or something but now they are not!

While I agree it’s going to take a lot to trust them again, my point was, we need to demand going forward, if we are to put them back up on sites, we get paid what IS inline with commission bases etc etc in todays market.

    Warren, thank you!

Brightshare Blacklisted on OCR – CAP mentioned and linked to in dispatches.

If there is any site I have missed, please let me know and I’ll add a link to your Brightshare page.

    Hi Warren,

With regard to “discussions” with Brightshare. While it could be counterproductive to discuss the topics of those talks here before they begin, the BIG issue here is loss of trust.

As you’d know, affiliates give 100% of their trust to the programs they partner. Having Brightshare blindside us with these retroactive changes; especially those affiliates who have been promoting them for a very long time, being shafted like this, is a non too nice feeling I can assure you!

Hypothetically if Brightshare decide the reverse their actions, who’s to say they don’t pull this stunt again? Or worse, restoring the original agreements but implement actions to shave affiliates blindly?

More than a few affiliates have posted about the insane increase in locked accounts. Then we have the double database accusations and the re-tagging that goes along with that.

Not to mention the AllslotsCasinoUSA debacle which affiliates lost out BIG time over too. While Brightshare did a deal with an RTG casino to send these USA players to. That stunt was only discovered when an affiliate was redirected to that RTG site when they visited AllSlotsCasinoUSA. Seriously it’s just one load of BS (BullSh#t) after another with this affiliate program.

Reiterating the trust affiliates gave to Brightshare is gone. This trust has not only been broken, its been destroyed by their own greed; people who are greedy always find other ways to peel their oranges.

    Just saying :D

I am really happy to see the decision taken by Warren in this matter.I believe forums like CAP,GPWA ,AND AGD have more power to make a difference than individual affiliates ,they can be our voice in this matter and it will make much more of a difference.Although this Brightshare issue won’t affect me much my concern is all Microgaming groups are going this route and then it can move on to other programs so for this reason we all need to stick together on this issue.

Received the Brightshare newsletter just now and the invite to lunch on them at Amsterdam. I don’t attend conferences because the distance is so great. But to meet these people face to face and give them a right stripping down in public, is certainly a strong motivator ;)

Glad to hear that BS has been suspended from CAP. This is the only Microgaming brand we haven’t converted with yet I now understand why. Just hope other Microgaming brands won’t follow suit.

We had recently put Brightshare back up but we are removing them, treatment like this cannot be tolerated, i hope everybody else does the same. Once a program starts screwing their affiliates they keep on doing it, cut your losses now and reward the good programs.

Warren it is good to see CAP take a strong stand on this, we need to act as a group on this.

    Agreed!

While they may turn heel and trash the retroactive changes, these blantant predatory actions with its payload intended to shaft all their partners, will continue to simmer in the minds of those who thought up this shellacking at Brightshare/Spiral Solutions.

They’ve already been incriminated for changing and dropping Btags, including using two (2) databases. Not to mention, the AllSlotsCasinoUSA debacle, where Spiral Solutions/Brightshare and their Spin Dr team got busy spinning BS (errr BullSh#t) excuses they too lost out over this deal.

For the record these changed/dropped Btags and double database accusations, fell around the time of the AllSlotsCasinoUSA affiliate issues.

I trusted Brightshare for over 10 years and they’ve shat on me and all their other affiliates too.

Hell will freeze over before I promote their brands again!

As for eCOGRA they need to be accountable too. Brightshare displays the eCOGRA Affiliate Trust Seal. Where were they when all these dodgy scams were taking place?
