InactiveGareth-
I’ve dealt with both you and with Brent at CR, and I’ve been happy with the affiliate support I’ve received, particularly the turnaround time when I’ve emailed you. (And, yes, I am one of those “smaller affiliates” you were referring to.) I can also vouch that retention has so far been very good, particularly with the one large player that I have with you guys. I hope I can send you more large players very soon in fact.

InactiveNO smooching from me! I feel that I have NOT been treated well.
Our Casinos convert less, but our player retention is higher, so basically we are focusing on the long term, not immediate profits. Hope this info at least will be useful to you all.
With all due respect I have NEVER found this to be true. At least not in my case – I agree that you dont convert as much as I have sent thousands of high quality hits per month only to see 3-6 joins. Thats a HORRIBLE conversion ratio … yet since you were my first program I have always kept you up.
Furthermore – I disagree that the retention is good – its not!
I have been with CR for years and have always averaged more or less the same profits each and every month now for 2 years – NO GROWTH at all despite a growing player base. I have also had several BIG winners hit big jackpots and vanish.
As stated I have found both the affiliate support and moreover the Casino support to be far less than satisfactory.
When a player has to wait 3-4 days to get a bonus or wait 5-10 days to get a withdrawal – if at all thats not acceptable. With business practice like that its no wonder the conversions and retention are not on par with other programs.

I think the join is misleading. Since they have to purchase a certain amount before they are considered a join.
Gareth can explain this better..

Not sure if it is only considered a join if the first deposit is over a certain amount, or until the player deposits a certain amount?

InactiveYES – I’m pretty sure I understand what it means to be a join

I believe the number is $100 …
Not really misleading to me – the conversion ratio is still way too low if I add registration AND joins … PLUS if you have for example 15 r+j every month for say 24months and the program says they concentrate on rentention – youd have 360 players x 30% (assuming they could retain just 30%) youd have 108 players playing in the current month.
Assuming you continue to average r+j you would expect that the # of players you have the next month to grow … for me it hasnt.

InactiveYes you are right if player retention is good the numbers should be there. As most casinos claim the viper software has even better retention than the thumper.

GuestHi,
Well my experience is much like Arks; in that I have leveled off in commissions earned despite have always been a loyal CR aff and sending them …. I’d say the bulk of my traffic over the last 4 or 5 years.
My player base has got to be much bigger than it is anywhere else; but I too cannot seem to climb out of the rut; so to speak.
This has caused me to move CR over to what i’d call my second or third best positions in the last 18 months ; and i’ve been rewarded (no pun intended) for the decision.
Having said that; I am more inclined lately to think it is for lack of properly trained customer support agents whom (I’ll loosely quote Fergie once again)
because to the player, since the only interaction they have is with support agents; TO THE PLAYER; THEY ARE THE CASINO
are you married girlfriend?

Now here is a question for you Garth that you could clear up for me that I’ve wondered a long time; but never remembered to ask Brent; (plus I feared the answer)
but pretending a problem isn’t there; never is the answer; so here’s the question:
If I send a player to Virtual city; and that player then a month later; goes and signs at BJB, do I get credit for the second signup?
If the answer is no; then it explains a lot.

Inactiveyes I agree and if the numbers are there and they claim good retention …. the profits should likewise be there.
Just isnt the case … the example I gave above was based on an average of just 15 r+j (registrations and joins) over a two year period …. thats a very small number yielding 360 players.
I have seen an average of about 52 (r+j) over the last 2 years so my player base is decent and growing, BUT my ROI is not growing.
So I ask what percentage of that player base is acceptable for retention?

as I dont feel the loyalty has been mutual.October 19, 2004 at 12:21 am #656438Anonymous
GuestI just wanted to say that despite some disappointment in my not climing out of the “rut” … that in no way do I think it takes away from the job Brent has done and continues…
and he is about 99% the reason that I’ve been loyal to CR for so long.
That part of CR IMHO needs no repair.
I’d just like to see myself climbing to a higher monthly average in earnings instead of seemingly stuck in the same place despite sending more and more players.

InactiveThat’s good Prof. CR got all the players it will get from me. IMHO, two is way to many!

GuestIts true. Brent has never failed to satisfy any request I’ve made to him on behalf of a player.
So laugh if you want to; but I appreciate that fact greatly.

InactiveI have to agree about Brent. He has always been very professional and courteous and responsive to me and has taken care of all requests pronto.

InactiveWell since I started removing their links mid last month – I am sending a fraction of the traffic and my profits this month totally SUCK!
So wheres the retention? Why isnt my player base at the very least keeping me at or above average? Hell that growing player base has never grown my profits – and now that I remove some links those profits plunge? Thats NOT rentetion – I will be kind and not say what it is, BUT YOU ALL KNOW!

GuestI don’t know what the deal is; but retention is surely a major concern.
Over the past few years not only have I concentrated my traffic towards CR; but I’ve mainly sent that towards Zodiac. (because it was the one to show performance from the start). Up until recently they made the bulk of income from CR.
Now even though this one casino has a great deal of players in my data base; last month it earned me a whopping few hundred bucks.
I’m quite concerned with CR at this point; because I ask anybody here; what kind of earnings would you expect from a casino that had received the bulk of your traffic over the last 4 or 5 years?
Certainly you would expect that casino to outperform everything around it; but Zodiac has done quite the opposite.
Its very discouraging to say the least.
