InactiveThat doesn’t mean these issues should not be brought up. Thank you for posting by the way, Stupid. And welcome to CAP!
Part of what makes CAP valuable is the opportunity it provides to communicate on issues like this and get them straightened out.
And while Laurent is not producing portals – you know and I know others are and it is a viable issue that does deserve attention.

Absolutely! This is one of the key benefits of being here at CAP. All posts here are so very valuable and informative. The issue of other affiliate programs building portals should definitley not die. As it is very important for the industry’s webmasters.

InactiveI dont know…Laurent comes and says “we didnt do it” and everybody is “OK”…I havent expected CP to say anything else, but that…
We are all affiliates – would you explain me why would any affiliate need separate account for each website – over 100!?!
And you have to log in to more than 100 accounts just to check the stats?
When all you have to do is use a different profile for each website, which would make your life WAY easier – you can ceck your stats logging only once, and you can compare the performance of each site with one look…Any webmaster here has more than one active account with an aff. program?
Or a need to?Come on…If Laurent would have given us a remote reason to why somebody would have over 100 different accounts…
Anyhow, I dont represent them anyways, but it pisses me off that I have to work on Google only, until they show up there too, then it’s back to the rat…December 28, 2004 at 12:02 am #659319Anonymous
Inactive“We made them…”
Um, no.
The issue of casinos linking *to* websites in their own network means that affiliates could be sending traffic to a casino site, which then sends it (or the pagerank or the authority) elsewhere. That’s one thing.
A different thing is a casino having its own means of attracting traffic, whether it is print ads and publications, or TV ads and publications, or Internet ads or sites. There is nothing wrong with a casino promoting itself, and in fact, if you don’t understand that this is the obvious future, you better. Casinos compete with portals all the time (since the casino sites obviously rank in search engines themselves). Using other sites besides just the parent is normal, like Winner Online. On the other hand, creating spamming crap (which did not happen here) just means the casino network should be reported, and that you might not want to associate with them.

InactiveThanks “cyclone” for a moment here I tought I was the only one with this information.
Well, I dont know “Calssics”, never seen its posts or info, but he/she sounds very “pro-casinoaffiliateprogrammed” (I just made that up), why would an affiliate approve the self-advertising of online casinos? What are we going to eat – rats? I have personally never been keen on Asian food, so I would like to keep on eating my filet Mignion, thanks a lot, it’s the least I could get for loosing my perfect 20/20 sitting in front of this computer…

InactiveCyclone,
You are correct! :wavey: Affiliate warning! The Capatian is going to be finding out who has been naughty and nice in 2004. Oh, less traffic can and will be coming to the naughty affiliate programs in 2005. You’ve got that fucking straight. :burnafatt Take care of the Captain and the Captain will take caren of you. Guess what is the alternative? Fuck, I need another beer. :bigsmile:December 28, 2004 at 12:34 am #659330

Guys without proof its just rumor, let’s not besmirch a program (or fellow affiliate) without a reasonable amount of verifiable proof or data. Thats the prudent thing to do or we can quickly end up as a mud slinging forum rather then a community where we work together towards a common goal of increased profits for all.
If you have proof by all means lets bring it out into the open. If not lets not get carried away with the tar and feathers.
