Lou… it probably wouldn’t do any good for me to bring it up… but I just looove confrontation! =0) This Yali character may not be so brave if he has to look into my eyes to take a shit on me…

Dom… just remember that some programs do come back from the dead… Never say never, cuz who knows what twists and turns are just ahead of us. I agree it would take a miracle, but since Jesus isn’t currently available to run their program, Connie is a great second choice!

    …but then again…

of Judas wannabees running most of the programs.

Yes they do, and I am presently considering both Fortune and Referback again for a trial run.

However, the attitude conveyed in Krystal’s post speaks volumes.

They were devoid of morals before, and the new guy sure seems to give flying leap about us.

    His comment was
” I dont know why I have to change my marketing methods to please affiliates

Doesn’t look like a change in attitude to me.

They made their bed, they are laying in it, and that guy will make sure that stays that way.

    Dom,

I agree that this Ya-la-ya-la fart sounds like an ass (hey! how’s that more matching metaphores?)…

But, I also have solid info that he doesn’t just piss off affiliates, he upsets his co-workers too… and that she…um, I mean…that they don’t like his business tactics any more than the rest of us do.

I think if he were gone, CC could be saved.

Aleph, Judas or not, if Yali tries to kiss me he’s a DEAD MAN! :D

I realize you like Connie. I have no problems with Connie.

The entire rest of the people there is who bothers me. Not just the Yali type.

They have been running the place into the ground with their affiliate hostile attitudes.

They hired Yali to switch the place more and more from affiliate marketing to other types.

He is only doing what he has been told to do.

Connie may be a nice lady, but there is nothing she can do that I can see.

I am not going to be one of the people who facilitates their transition away from affiliates.

They are going to run their own set of portals and concentrate on their own marketing. You’ll see I’m right. I only feel sorry for Connie. It’s bye bye affiliates.

    I say:

    Bye bye coins!

You may be right, Dom… there’s really no argument.

I just wonder why they would bring in Connie if they are gonna cut out affiliates all together.

Speaking of which, I kinda hope they do…. Yea, you heard me.

    THINK OF THIS:
    ===========

The only program “bold” enough to go it alone… to cut off affiliates all together… with the whole industry watching… and they go out’a business inside of six months.

    They’ll be back.

Referback distanced itself more and more – and is coming back.

    Ditto for Fortune.

They do need us – there is no cheaper way to market than through affiliates.

They won’t cut affiliates out altogether, they will just be concentrating more on other advertising venues – like their CDs and portals.

They would be fools to cut out affs all the way – all that free branding! But they will compete with us even heavier.

The notion that affiliates are more trouble than they are worth keeps cropping up.

Let’s face it, we are a motley crew! :D

However, all the programs come back around and cater to affiliates when they realize that there is nothing more efficient.

By coddling them when they are heading in the wrong direction we do neither ourselves nor them any favors.

Of course with Coins there is the additional factor that they are devoid of the normal principles of business, like paying for performed services.

    imho

you can’t beat a strictly pay per performance labour force

if they dump the affiliates they will have to reproduce our
efforts at a lower cost and I don’t think it’s possible because
I know how much work goes into being an affiliate.

If they go this route they will have to bear the costs of
supporting employees, training, turnover, hardware software
costs, office expenses, advertising, etc etc etc … basically they would be saying that affiliate marketing is not worth it.

    I agree completely.

Affiliate should be accessable, reasonable, professional, and do their jobs with enthusiasm.

HOWEVER, affiliates who allow themselves to be bullied, intimidated, or pushed around will continue to be victimized and taken advantage of until they are put out of business.

There is a very fine line between being a strong affiliate and becoming a “problem” affiliate (in the eyes of the programs). But it’s just as dangerous on the other end, when you could be perceived as a push over who never speaks up and can be shaved at will.

Look at my recent confrontations with Tradal and Club Dice, and in the past with Windows and Casino Rewards. Tradal backed down, Windows and Casino Rewards joined APCW, and Club Dice is calling me every other day about “working together” (code term for they want better placement).

My point is this: Had I not stood up to these guys in such a way that demonstrated I can be an affective affiliate but will not stand for their bullshit, I guarantee you all they wouldn’t respect anything I produced… whether it was on Integrity or the APCW.

    Sorry for the rant…

    ========================

    By the way, Aleph…

You didn’t hear this from me, but the reason casinos need affiliates is that they aren’t as smart as we are. If they could do the job without us, they would… but they cannot.

We don’t give ourselves enough credit sometimes. We are all well-above average intellegence… and dare I say we could beat the shit out of affiliate managers on a game of Jeopardy!

Don’t be blinded by a friendly, personable affiliate manager. Although those assets make doing business with them pleasant, you must remember that these people are paid to be nice to us. They are professional shmoozers. Salespeople.

The most wonderful personality and interpersonal skills in the world doesn’t mean dick if you can’t make money with their casinos – or if they’re cheating you.

You’d be surprised how many people can rob you blind while making you feel as if you’re the best thing since sliced bread.

Why do you think they brought Connie back? Obviously because she’s a first-class shmoozler – judging by the comments webmasters have made. Do you think that means the management of casino coins has changed their business practices?

I haven’t had any conversions to speak of from casino coins – no matter how much traffic I send their way.

Giving them one more chance for March – sending a more traffic than ever. No new registrations so far.

(how do you spell shmoozler? :D )

This was to do with the CD advertisement on the frontpages of the casinos websites. So it is clear he does not want to work with affiliates at all….

They did change their ” marketing methods ” … they used
to ship hundreds of casino software cds with our affilliate
codes on them to some of us.

Absolutely agree this says it all.

Casino Coins is acting arrogant as if they were the only casino affiliate program on the Net. I dought CC will be around this time next year as they are losing massive amounts of traffic from successful affiliates. I use to send them 4,600 give or take visitors a month up till January 2003. I reduced their traffic to less than 1,300 a visits a month for the past several months. Poor conversions are in my opinion are due to the CD’s and also the gaming software. If I don’t see positive changes soon CC will be lucky to get 50 vistors a month.

What a coincidence. In the beginning of 2003 they still had almost 45% of their players from affiliates, but were going downhill. Now it’s down to around 25%.

At least that is what someone is whispering in my ear. I have no way to check the accuracy except for the 45% – that is correct for sure.

    Fergie – it’s Schmoozers.

Although those assets make doing business with them pleasant, you must remember that these people are paid to be nice to us.

Yep. When they want something you are the most wonderful loveable person on earth, no matter how much you irritate them.

My husband calls them brown nosers. When he walks in and I am on the phone he looks at me and rubs his nose and I nod if it’s a manager.

    Brown nosers.

Yup. When I was in retail, the brown nosers were in full force – from the supplier reps to the newpaper ad people to the tv ad people.

All were so very nice, and you’d think I was god’s gift to the retail industry by the way they treated me. Very chatty, personable and hard to get rid of.

But they want something – to move their product further to the front, to pay for some wasted ad in their medium or whatever. They are paid to be your friend. My momma didn’t raise no fool! Although I did enjoy their company during slow days. :)

Oh, there are quite a few managers I like. Doing their job is just that. I often even like those I do not do business with.
