Pretty obvious based on the way things were handled with ChipLeader on PAP and CAP that this will in no way be meant to protect affiliates, but more likely intended to protect the advertiser.

    Hey Rake,

I’m sorry to hear that you feel that way. We do, and will continue to do our best to look out for the best interest of the affiliates, which is one of the reasons why we launched this system, and which is why we also use ourselves as a barrier between affiliates and predatory terms, as seen with recent events where we mediated controversy.

If you do however have a serious problem with anything associated with CAP, please don’t hesitate to contact Warren, Lou, myself, or another CAP team member via e-mail or PM. We’d love to hear your thoughts and resolve any implications you may have in a professional manner :)

    Have a great weekend,

    Arjun

    Prove it!

You created us an “arbitration forum” that has been absolutely ignored.

    The chipleader issue has covered:

    Cheating.

Retagging of players belonging to affiliates.

Yet, they remain “certified” without even so much an acknowledgement of the scandal to tain there record, I’m sure it’s advertising dollars – and I don’t blame you for trying to run a profitable business but I am of the belief that the constant alienation of affiliates in favor of advertisers will take it’s toll on the value of your potential ad sale.

Also – for the reasons above, I don’t really believe CAP/PAP capable of being an unbiased “affiliate watchdog”.

I know I couldn’t be both an unbiased affiliate watchdog in your shoes, so I really think you should reconsider various areas of your expansion.

My .02, I’m outspoken – tend to speak out – I’ll be off now, I can at least say that you addressing my post was appreciated. Cheers.

This may seem to simple but why not have KW be a paid staff member of CAP to run this section as well as AGD?

Of course that would all be between CAP and KW but I think there is a way to offer the service respectively.

While this is not a bad idea since our system has been running much longer, has a 2 year history, and has overturned COUNTLESS predatory terms…. I do not believe it is wise for AGD to partake in that sort of partnership. The paid certification clouds what we do, which is why we are independent of CAP in the first place. We are just going to continue supporting affiliates at AGD and not worry too much about the clone. If CAP feels that they have acted ethically, then it is not for me to decide that they haven’t. It’s up to the members and their conscience.

I wish CAP well. This will (hopefully) be my last post in this section.

I just trust an affiliate program more if there are 2 stamps on it : CAP and AGD certified.

I don’t trust any affiliate sites even if they have 120 badges on them, until I have done my own research. As I believe all webmasters should do. On here and on GPWA there are in my view several unethical affiliate programs. CAP and GPWA just offer a line of communication between the programs, nothing more and nothing less.

This would have been the preferred route, but to my understanding, when we approached andy to work more closely together, it didn’t work out for reasons that didn’t suit Andy and for reasons that didn’t suit CAP.

It was never the ‘preferred route’ to get AGD in house as paid staff. Something entirely different was requested, as Lou eluded to in a previous post. That would have limited AGD’s ability to supply information to other affiliate portals and would have required us to change our system entirely.

Instead we continued to supply CAP with alerts and were promised AGD would not be copied. The end.

Let’s just get over this so that I don’t have to continue coming in and correcting mistruths. I think we all need to just get past this. As was told to me some time ago…. ‘Affiliates will be angry at first, but they will get over it’.

Hey guys… I shouldn’t even have posted before and if I had edit capabilities I would remove :(

I am very stressed not only with this situation (to a much lesser extent), but my son just had surgury. It is a trying time and probably not the best time for me to post.

    sorry again.

thought i’ld throw in my 2 roubles into the pile. although i completely understand kwblue’s disappointment, seems like what CAP has done is normal business behaviour. they pursued their interest at the expense of a prior agreement with kwblue. not cool, but what can you do now…

i don’t really believe that business can inherently be ethical since then it would be a non-profit activity where “i give you things at the price i get them”, kind of commie style :D. maybe on a personal level kwblue should have not been treated like this, but as prof explicitly pointed out, this is business. nothing personal.

to kwblue’s advantage, AGD has much more legitimacy than CAP alerts since they work differently and don’t have the bias that comes with paid certification. so that’s that. i actually use neither since i rely on someone posting when some big term changes happen :)

i think AGD will remain the better tracking system since it oversees more programs than CAP can certify. AGD for t&c tracking is same as statsremote to stats checking :) CAP alerts is more of a niche product, while AGD has the potential to include a lot more programs. particularly smaller ones that can’t afford to pay for CAP certification but need a place to expose themselves to affiliates and show some form of conformance to industry “standards”.

like andy said, all of this will be forgotten in a couple of months and things will evolve naturally. probably the result of the competition created by these two programs will be beneficial for most people….

hopefully andy’s son’s surgery went through smoothly…good luck mate and be strong!
