InactiveHi Nathan,
Is this the Affiliate Guard Dog System?
Cheers

InactiveAlthough I think it is great that CAP now has this tool, I think I am going to have to keep getting my updates from the small guy AGD.

InactiveThey say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :3eyes:
any time there is any change whatsoever to that program’s Terms & Conditions page, you’ll be automatically sent an email and a PM by the CAP Team letting you know the nature of the change. You’ll also receive a link to a new forum post that highlights the changes and keeps records of all changes that have been made to the page.
Are the changes reviewed at all before alerts are sent? For example, if a program updates their T&Cs to correct a typo, will an alert be sent? (If so, expect to receive several alerts each day.)

InactiveI worked SO hard… spent a LOT of my own money to make AGD a unique place where affiliates can get real information without a monetary slant and this is what I get.
When did CAP become a place where ideas and livelihoods were stolen?
I am way more disappointed than mad 🙁

InactiveI get the distinct impression that this isnt Affiliate Guard Dogs system? Just his idea replicated onto CAP?
Power to the affiliates!

That’s right, every change that is made to a program’s t&c’s are reviewed and verified before subscribers are alerted

InactiveAGD for me, I know KWBlue has put in a lot of time and effort on it and I think he is doing a great job juggling that and a family. Respect.

GaryBulgotirsMemberWhy re-invent the wheel?
AGD has an awesome system in place.
AGD audits are unbiased and free from financial manipulation.
I just don’t understand the motivation or need for CAP to compete with Affiliate Guard Dog, it seems like a waste of CAP resources to me.November 12, 2008 at 2:14 pm #786627Anonymous
InactiveI have supported AGD financially and with volunteer work for some time.
Andy is doing an impeccable job. Why duplicate it?

InactiveLou, with all due respect, I think this is not right.
I understand CAP’s ambitions, and – to your credit – I think the industry has greatly benefited from your raised involvement in recent years, not the least on the conferences and expos front.
Ambition, however, doesn’t justify this move.
CAP – of all organizations- knows how important trust and respect are our line of work, and this move doesn’t strike me as particularly glorious. I’ve worked with Andy, one of your longest serving members, for a while now, and his work at AGD has always been stainless IMO. You will have a lot to live up to.
As a market leader and as a breeding ground for tomorrow’s top affiliates, I believe it’s CAP’s responsibility to lead by example, and this decision is not an example I would want anyone to follow.
I think it’s going to become increasingly difficult for CAP to justify some of the strategic decisions being taken.
My 2 cents.

LucretiaMemberi trust the AGD 100% and all info and changes about the T&C’s have been well taken care of, i see no need for another bible – i stick with the AGD guide.
I think a financial cooperation would be a better move than just to have duplicate info on both sites.
Besides that portals and affiliate programs get CAP certified and an independent resource like AGD must exist to protect affiliates joining rogue affiliate programs.
My vote is for the hero : AGD :wink-wink – thanks for all the work you have put in! :hattip:
PS : I would like to see his rep. power (0) changed, this (0) # is ridiculous.

InactivePierrick put it perfectly.
November 12, 2008 at 5:00 pm #786661Anonymous
InactiveAgree 100% with Pierrick. The introduction of CAP Audit addresses a gap in the market whereas this is not and I am a bit puzzled as to how this came about.

InactiveTalking about treading on the little guys toes. This whilst done I am sure in the best interests of CAP Members, is very harsh on all the hard work affiliate guard dog has done.

InactiveToday I read this news from CAP newsletter and was surprised, because we know that it’s kwblue idea to monitor T&Cs of all aff programs, I respect kwblue’s work and I trust AGD.
And now I understand why AGD forum was closed at CAP:sarcasm:.
But what I want to say, I will subscribe to CAP alerts, because any new tools are interesting for me, but AGD will be my main source where always I will be able to find the truth.
