What Google is Doing.

What I read recently was that sites that rely on ‘news articles’ are getting hammered because they look like ‘link farms’ to the mindless feeding machine that never gets full googlebot (I guess 0’s and 1’s have no calories) and the reason- new alga update

I’ll tell you this googlebot is munching up (or crawling) my sites right now

I could be “Captain Obvious” here for laying this down, but I think this is what I think Google is doing, or heading towards.

I think what Google is doing, is giving power to the people to decide what gets ranked highly in the SERPs based on what is currently popular.

So if I were to create a new post on my website, and then 40-100(or more?) people social bookmark it, it would appear highly in the SERPs while it is trending.

Or .. hang on.. isnt this already happening with news articles?

Isn’t this what happens anayway? Social bookmarks count as links so more links equal better visibility? I reckon Google would try and steer away such sites that people can manipulate just for links which SEOs have been doing for years.

I gave up thinking on what Google is up to..lol They are up to ruling the world I tell ya!
