Do link wheels work these days

itsblitz asked 3 years ago
i read a load of articles on how to build link wheels, so i spent around 2 weeks building 4 link wheels for different keywords, to the letter, this was about 2 months ago, i have seen no improvement in my rankings for these keyword terms, i have now started reading that link wheels have been devalued in the new google update, is there truth in this? would it make sense to go back and break up these link wheels and just have one way links to my target site?

I think if something doesn’t give you any results after 2 months, then it probably isn’t worth very much. Any link building that actually works should give some results in that time. The only thing that really works is one way permanent and relevant links, that will never change <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

The diagram sorta says it all – where to get your links from, and how to do it – and whats going to give you bang for your link work!

Work smarter I guess, rather then harder on the links which have low value.

ok so basically submitting to article sites, directory submitting and press release is no longer looked upon by google as being as important, quality or authoritative when you get the link back? but using social media, facebook, twitter so on is seen as still being a good link back, web 2.0 comes under this umbrella of social media right?

The SEO benefits of social media will increase fast I guess, so if you aren’t active yet, start now!
Btw imho sites like Facebook will score far better than Twitter, because of the interaction with visitors. Google loves that.
