InactiveWell, I booked at the Exalibur because traditionally if you stay in the convention Hotel you don’t have to travel – you can drink in the bar and go upstairs to bed.
Looks like I was wrong this time. Where is the Mandalay in relation to the Exalibur? I doubt I’ll make it to many of the social functions unless its a hop and a skip..

InactiveMandalay Bay and Excalibur are connected by a monorail, which also stops at Luxor in between the two. (All three are Mandalay properties.)
I would think the tram should be safely negotiable even by the inebriated.

You are correct. That’s why I suggested Mandalay Bay in the first place. It’s great hotel with very easy access to Excalibur. The monorail is easier than walking across the street, because if you have ever been to Vegas you know that even if a hotel is “next door” it may be a half-mile walk from your room to the meeting room in the next door hotel. The monorail stops at the main lobby of Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur.

InactiveHi All!
My name is Nate, I’m the owner and webmaster of a gambling portal site called Casino Sage (http://www.casinosage.com). I’ve been lurking on this board off and on for a while, but until now I haven’t been very social in our community. Not that I don’t think you guys are great … don’t take it personally!
I’m really excited to be coming to Vegas in October to meet all of you. I’m relatively new in the industry (about 1 year). I’m looking forward to learning a lot and drinking a lot. Should be tons of fun.
I’ll be there from Oct 2 – 4, and I’m staying at the Luxor.
See you all soon,
NateAugust 25, 2004 at 11:29 pm #653947Anonymous

InactiveHi All you Party Animals . . :drink:
As you can see from the name, I live in Las Vegas.
I have never gone to one of the casino conferences. Although I have been in affiliate marketing for several years, I am fairly new as a casino affiliate. One of my sites is VegasStationCasino.com
Every time I come into this forum I feel as though everyone here is light years ahead of me as far as technological knowledge.
Do you think I would get any benefit from attending the conference, or do you think most of it might go right over my head? I’m not a dunce . . I do have a higher than average IQ, just that my knowledge is not of a technological nature.
I would love to go if I thought I might learn something, but if it is a lot of techno-babble I’m afraid I’ll be lost.
What have previous conferences been like?

InactiveHi,
Welcome to the board. Considering you live in Vegas, I would consider going. The cost of the conference for most of us is probably a quarter of the expense, with the rest being airfare, hotel, taxes, etc.
As for it being over your head i highly doubt it. Most of the speaches are geared towards beginners and there’s not really any technical or in-depth information provided. The reason us veterans go is more for networking purposes, and what we can learn amongst ourselves.
