vladcizsolMemberElice I have a feeling we will see a MAJOR exodus from the US market once the bill is signed into law. It wont be just Party and 888 and Cryptologic. It will be EVERY publically traded company and most privately held firms as well.

InactiveIt have always been illegal.
The only thing that I can see will that stop it would be if ISPs start to block sites.October 2, 2006 at 1:52 pm #708515

InactiveAre our domains safe with the current U.S registrars? Can they take our domains from us if we host our sites outside the U.S and don’t target the U.S market?

vladcizsolMemberI believe any domain used for illegal activities is subject to forfeiture.

InactiveGood think our Senators and President shut this down instead of pedophile porn sites.
Gambling is much more immoral.

InactiveI few months ago I was checking my webilizer stats and this is what I found for August.
24 21 0.09% 21 0.11% 167 0.08% US Government
25 21 0.09% 21 0.11% 167 0.08% US Military
Don’t really mean much, but interesting. In any case, some hosting companies may reside in the U.S but have severs in other parts of the world. My domain was purchased outside the U.S but my server for one of them is in the U.S.
I have contacted my server, whom I am good friends with and he told me not to worry. The company would serve my site out of a different country.
My other domain the company is based in Canada but the site is served out of Greece.
What does all this mean? hell if I know. But I am certain of one thing there will be no way the U.S will be able to stop U.S citizens from gambling online. This is the internet and is something Governments cannot regulate effectively.

Thay could ban hosters to host such site – it’s possible. But forfeit domain names – it’s against any rules :terms:October 2, 2006 at 3:06 pm #708555
vladcizsolMemberProperty used in an illegal activity IS seized. The GSA has auctions where they sell this seized property all the time.

If you own greatcasino.com and it´s parked (and not forwarded or used in any gambling business strategy) I don´t see how that can get seized.
