    Hi Prof,

CAP without you is unthinkable, and I think the reverse is also true. So even if you hand over the business to others, I am sure you will remain in the background and I think CAP members will appreciate that. But, please do us all a favour by making a clear statement about this CardSpike affair on some platform which is frequented by affiliates, like e.g. the Casinomeister forum. It will be a great service to the entire online gambling community.

    With best regards

    Professor:

I don’t know any of the members here or at the gpwa but my thoughts are this. Both entities were set up as legimate businesses to benefit the owners/operators of said businesses. Along with that they have provided a forum for members of the gaming community to come ask for help, voice their opinions, trade ideas etc. I have been observing the whole thing from the sidelines and thinking to myself. Both the Cap and Gpwa have been acting in an unprofessional manner. Bottom line, this is a business! I think there is some incredible bitterness between the two entities but frankly that’s the problem of the shareholders of those entities. Whether or not Cap or an affiliation of Cap had anything to do with Cardspike is not the root problem here. It is just another reason to sling sh** back and forth. Transparency in business that reaps the benefits of it’s members and in this case affiliates is most important. I believe this is a forgiving industry to some degree, however if there is no transparency there can be no trust. Professor this is your baby as you have stated and your business, to leave it just because you can’t take it anymore is silly. The members of Cap depend on you and the business model you have developed. Suck it up and continue with business as usual. Same goes for the gpwa, it is their business and their members depend on their business model. Both of you get over this rivailly which is unhealthy for this entire sector and move forward by shaking hands as gentlemen.

    Lou,

I must say, i am a little disappointed in you! You have never struck me a someone who “gives up” and thats exactly what your doing???

I have looked up to you as someone who knows the business and takes care of business. This is not what i expected from you. How could you let someone else run you out????

You need to get off the pity train, and get back to business, takeing care of your “Baby” and its members, no one else can do the same job, in the same way, because they won’t care as much as you do. I don’t mean to sound cruel or unsympathetic, but your reasons for leaving are bullshit! Don’t let whats been going on the past few weeks, run you out of your own home…..i respect you, but not your decision, it sounds like giving up, and i do not except that from you.

I think others have said how I feel as well. I have remained neutral this entire time because I have very many friends tied up in this whole mess and 1 thing I have respected about ALL of them is not 1 of my friends have asked me to choose sides because I cannot and will not. I think that many like myself just wanted to stay out of this mess and get on with our work and provide for our families and really never thought about how far out of hand this was all getting. I think Professor you do need a break and spend some time fishing and then use that time to decide how your roll with CAP will continue.

This industry needs to come together and unite for a hard fight we have this year. Things are done in haste such as banning, might I suggest that only one person be in charge of that button? Maybe if someone is acting up you all can have a pow wow in your staff and do a vote on the banning before it takes place? You know too many Indians and not enough chief’s can really cause havoc.

Edited to add it would be nice to see all the parties involved here to come to London and settle this thing once and for all.

I have not met you or know you in person, but anyone who has the kind of responsibility here is an easy target.

Don’t let the turkeys get you down . . . :cappy:

I find all this forum wars ,card spike and now absolute slots very stressful and i’m not even involved lol. My head is about to bust just having to go to all the forums and catch up.
I personally think there is enough proof to see there is some sort of connection ,afterall i have the paypal receipt from absolute slots.I think all these C&D letters Cap has sent is wrong but I don’t know what i would do in same situation.Do i think this makes CAP/LOU an awful person ?No i don’t .Have they taken others ideas and used them here -Maybe/Probably actually. But in business ,most times it is about survival of the fittest.
It probably is very difficult to allow your competition to use your websites and events to promote themselves and potentially take away your revenue steam so maybe I would have done some of the same things too.
Do I think CAP has distorted some fact?Yes but Considering Lou is an American citizen I can also see a legal reason to try to keep some business activities private.
Personally if i were American i would not even be an affiliate under current legal conditions .I am still waiting for the DOJ to dust off these Neteller files and land many people in jail for evading taxes .
I think the important thing here is ,imagine how you all will feel if the next post about the professor is he is in the hospital or worst Dead !I personally would not want to feel responsibility for grilling the man to his death.Lou has been fighting health problems for a long time , this year he managed to drop a lot of weight but still has a long way to go.His stress level is very high and prime candidate for a stroke and heart attack. So maybe we can lay off a bit when he is going back and forth to the hospital which he has been doing this last while.

I am not an ass kisser ,I do believe that there are wrong doings here but I think if Cap is so bad you should all leave. If programs feel ripped off and defrauded they too will leave. If CAP hasn’t made the announcements you all feel they should make then go over to GPWA,GIA ,Casinomeister and complain about it .Maybe I will be over there complaining about it too.

I think it is horrible to make a man feel unwelcomed in his own house and this is Lou’s House.

    Hey Lou,
For the past several years we have been best friends and will be for many years to come. You have always been there in my time of need and it will never be forgotten. As mention above you have had health problems for sometime and last year you almost did not make it. I feel you need to take some time away from this for your health sake. It has sadden me to see the events unfold the past few weeks and I would like to see it come to an end.

Many good memories and good times together is what I think about. Thanks for the good memories Lou my best friend. I am hoping for more good times in the future.

As far as retiring from CAP, you are the Professor that founded CAP and invested so much of your time helping others. Without the Professor CAP your baby will not go on. Take some time away and get some rest to fight on another day.

Oh and one more thing, you have many friends my friend.

I don’t think pounding the professor while in bad health is in good form, however, I can say, as someone who has had stress and anxiety issues, that ‘the truth can set you free’.

If a person is hiding something, even if its small details, that puts pressure/stress on that person that leads to some very bad mental/physical states, so perhaps the answer is not for us to lay off the professor and cap, perhaps the answer is for the professor and cap to reveal the truth, and stop trying to use semantics to skirt around issues.

This whole mess is just too reminiscent of the last 8 years under Bush’s government.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your kind words. Lou is obviously very distraught over this situation after spending 10+ years fighting for the industry, helping resolve countless number of issues between affiliates and programs, and spearheading such instrumental initiatives such as CAP Euro along with the rest of our team. The decision was made because Lou would like to focus his time and energy on helping affiliates succeed in private rather than taking abuse from other silly competing forums, which is rather childish in the first place.

I would like to encourage everyone, both members and non-members of CAP, to encourage GPWA, Michael Corfman, Jay Todd, APCW, and whoever else is participating in these attacks against the CAP community to STOP causing this unneeded distraction in our industry. It will hurt you PERSONALLY if Lou is no longer a part of CAP and able to provide the assistance and guidance he has since CAP’s inception.

I’d also like the clarify the following points, based on a few rumours circling:

    – Dom and Christine will head the CAP message board, not the company or site, for the time being.
    – None of the top management from our parent company (Affiliate Media) have or will resign from the company. Please bear in mind that the company Lou co-founded behind CAP has many subsidiaries. Lou’s post reflects his intention to resign from publicly running the forums at CAP. Everyone will still be involved behind the scenes in ensuring that CAP remains the igaming affiliate industry’s leading driving force.
    – Most of the CAP team, including Lou and I, will be attending CAP Euro London and we encourage you to approach us about any outstanding issues.
    – CAP is stronger than ever, with more new members, posts, traffic, and certified programs than ever before. More cool stuff to come which will be announced soon.

See you all next week in London! :hattip:

Ok guys, Lou is not well, and Christine and me will be running CAP for a bit.

Just the message board. Nothing will change much, I have been here anyway from the start.

I am not the contact point for aff managers, just us affs.

Hopefully everything will calm down and we will have the usual fun work resource we have enjoyed for years.

Now I have got to catch some sleep, 3 hours in 3 days doesn’t hack it.

Now please behave yourselves, lemme catch some needed sleep, guys.If there are any messes to untangle, we can do so tomorrow.

Noc and all, that’s NOT the way it’s going to be.

We’ll start a new thread tomorrow and hash it all out.

It’s just not exactly on topic with Lou’s good bye thread. So please let it rest for one day and let me get to sleep. Then we’ll all tackle the monster. OK?

FYI this was asked of me today.

How about you suggest that they lift all of the past bans, and let those people back in???

Best thing to do is all of us get calm and enjoy London and while there see what we can get done on mending things. NO one is expected to shut up that is an assumption and not what was said dear, what I think he meant is lets all work together and try to resolve this issue.

So please be nice and gentle on us we are not here for politics or fighting we are here to make sure CAP runs smooth and members are not neglected while Lou recovers a bit.
