InactiveI don’t keep track of when payments are made – just expect to have them by the end of the following month. Thats why I never post in that payments received thread. I got enough grey hair without worrying about that. I know they all come in at different times, so I just adjusted my bookkeeping. If it is fast payments you want – Wagerprofit and Slotland rule.
However I noticed that Vegas Affiliates is always the latest, later than Fortune.
I see nothing wrong with Fortune. Fortune, like Slotland, offers a payment option that is a percentage of deposit. This is simple and straight forward and you don’t have to worry about negative balances.
I agree about negative carry overs. They are a pain. Add together bundling and negative carryovers and you have a real problem.
CPA Hybrids – they have their place, and they let you know when to make the jump to revshare. If you must make some fast cash, if you want to pay for advertising etc, they are not a bad solution. You just need to pay attention and see when you have outgrown them.
I like them for things that establish themselves slowly but surely – like Bingo. I would like to see more of them in poker.
But pure CPA is poison in my book.
Read the T&Cs before you join. Ask here if you have questions about them. I know they are a pain to read, but they are infinitely important.

Yuppers, many companies carry over negative balances… Make sure your reading what you are clicking to have read and agreed to
I know.. boring as hell… but you don’t want to end up finding out the hard way later :grunt:January 18, 2006 at 11:20 am #681194Anonymous
InactiveThanks Dominique and Daera for clarifing this issue to me, it’s quite a tricky and unethically play I would say (negative balance/CPA).:fencing:

InactiveI know UPP isn’t the best, but it was the first casino program I used, back in 2001, so I’m still loyal to them. My account manager is very friendly, and we share many opinions. The players seem to like it too.

InactiveFirst of all you need to find out what type of casinos work well with your site. The people that go to your site will like casinos that my people going to my site don’t like. Every site is different.
Then pick out the affiliates that have those casinos and are honest.
Good luck!:rasta:January 21, 2006 at 2:01 pm #681493Anonymous
InactiveI think I named these in another post, I didn’t offer any aff links or the like, and yet the person asking the question repsonded in a manner that led me to think that the only person he thought was not answering him for personal gain, was an actual casino program, that answered in PM rather than out in the open for all to see..
I wasn’t real sure about advertizing again.. but here are my favorites, and why
I like Absolute Poker, I make a decent percentage from them, and they allow me to schedule my own private tourneys with them, whenever I want! The private tourneys there dont produce a ton of signups but they give my site GREAT exposure, and a few new depositors each time.
Their turnaround time when I need help isnt the greatest! Their refer a friend program ticks me off! As my loyal group members often use me as the ‘friend’ that refered them, trying to make sure I get credit.. as ive whined b4, I now get 50 bux when they deposit, and thats it!
Casino Partners is just starting to pick up for me. They have a weekly freeroll for each of my sites. So i stay pretty loyal. They actually approached me with the private freeroll offer, and a friend of mine says they wont have one for her. I don’t know what the qualifiers are for that.
I LOVE the guy @ No1pokerroom! He’s awesome, I have him on YIM, anything I ask is done within minutes.. their site, rakecity.com rather sux

Another great couple of guys are the guys @ Purple Lounge, I worked very close with Alex for quite a few months when I first started, and he’s awesome!
A few things I look for are….
I start with the months payments thread, to see who’s getting paid.. I like that one, cuz its just people proud of themselves for a months work, and comparing who got paid for what first.. I don’t really CARE who pays first, I just want to see that they ARE paying, 1st or 20th, doesn’t matter, lets just get it here b4 the 31st

Then I move to the threads where ppl yell about whomever they are pissed off @.. those are all out.. sux for those programs that really are good, but theres a million of em out there, so why should I bother if someone was ticked off enough to write about it
Allthough, I do like some of the threads here, where someone was ticked off ata program, then the program mgr replys to the thread, and they get in touch.. and the original poster says the problem is solved.. Haven’t decided 100% though, I dont want to be in a situation where I must post on a public forum to get attention.
Some of the silly things I like are… exit consoles, turn around time when I have a problem.. who can I call.. will they host private games (if not I don’t bother with them at all!) and friendliness, offer me the world, if I don’t like you, go to hell

InactiveThanks Webmaster7, crapsRus and Lady H.
Lady H, I must admit you got me a bit confused in your reply:“I think I named these in another post, I didn’t offer any aff links or the like, and yet the person asking the question repsonded in a manner that led me to think that the only person he thought was not answering him for personal gain, was an actual casino program, that answered in PM rather than out in the open for all to see.. “
Who is the person you are talking about. and another thing I’m glad I made you laugh that was my intention (in the PM) but I don’t realy understand what does it mean “IP”… hope it’s a good thing..
Thanks guys again, I’m looking forward to hear more views… it helps me a lot.

Good luck!:rasta:My main interest (asking about affiliates program) was because I’m creating my own website which will advertise few casinos (but not too many) I would like to choose at least 5 top ones that are reliable and that will be players friendly. I haven’t decided yet what sort of orientation my site will have. what is the best one? is it a bonus oriented casinos?
I understand that I have quite a lot of work to do. but I believe that a good research will only make my site better. as choosing the right casinos/affiliates programs as well as creating a professional site will insure my sucsess, or at least avoid any common mistakes.Any kind of suggestion will be well appreciated! I already know more than I knew before I’ve joined this great forum.:1Dialog:
Thanks.. MissM

InactiveYou know …I understand the problem with CPA deals but I think Dominique and Professor with all due respect you have forgotten someone. Yes it is true that the affiliate and the program both can be abused by CPA but what about the other person….you know the guy who loses ? The guy who pays to play the game….? The Player…? Sometimes I have a problem sleeping at night.
So why is this ? Because when I wake up I feel happy when someone loses his ass….and that’s when I’m on a revenue sharing plan…. I feel happy knowing that someone’s life is affected negatively by something that I have created.
I don’t like that….You know …if it wasn’t for me he might not be having marriage problems because of his gambling. If it wasn’t for me his kids might not have to live with a single parent because of a divorce that I may have been a part of. You can turn your back away from thinking about these things but they still don’t away. It’s a fact ….you thrive and prosper on human misery when it comes to revenue sharing.
So let me ask you….again….Remember I’m not judging you, because I’m just like you…but is there a moral issue involved that you / we are overlooking or trying to overlook ?
Is it better to steer a player to a casino and hope he wins like you can on a CPA plan….Or is it better to steer a player to a casino and hope he loses ? And can you sleep knowing what you did was right ?
Dominique wrote:Talking about CPA problems – CAP warns repeatedly, both the professor and me and many other people here:do not take CPA deals!!!!!
In CPA deals one party always loses.
For us it is impossible to tell whether you are looking at a fraudulant action by the program or the affiliate.
CPA attracts fraudulent people like honey attracts insects. On both sides of the fence.
That is because one party always loses and both parties are trying to get the better of the other one.
I wish programs didn’t even offer it. But – some affiliates like it, especially newer ones who need the instant cash to help build the business. And sometimes it works out. Sometimes the value of the players sent by the affiliate actually approximately matches the CPA amount.
When the affiliate sends players that are worth $20 and collects $100, how long do you think it will take the program to stop paying?
And on the other hand, if the affiliate keeps sending players, and the program is delighted to pay, you know that the player value is higher than the CPA.
CPA is a mess. Stay away from it.
CAP has resolved lots and lots of problems over the years, even with programs that are not certified. Most of it behind the scenes, some of it publicly. Anyone who has been a member of this community for any length of time knows this.

InactiveI’m afraid I must disagree with you pacificsun1, as not all players are compulsive gamblers. Most players are people who enjoy good casino games who have enough money to spend on casinos and not to get ripped off and loss all their belongings and family.
Also if there is a demand for casino games the supply shall follow so if it isn’t you the supplier, then someone else will take your place and gain a higher profit. I agree with you as we need to think about the player , that is true but we’ll do it by offering a reliable and “player friendly” casinos.
To prove my point I will ask you this questions: Does a bartender feels bad when he knows he sold many alcohol drinks the previous night? I don’t think so. as most of his clients enjoy good drinks while only a small percentage are alcoholics and will have their home broken because of their drinks habits.
I hope I made my point of view on this subject clear.
