I am just wondering how many more electoral votes California and New York need? With California having 55 electoral votes and New York I believe having 31 it seems they are already quite weighted. I’m guessing you think we should take some votes away from the trailor trash and make New York and California worth 270 electoral vote?

Now that Bush is back I have a feeling that Corfman will be gutted.Ive thought the same thing since I first heard of the suit … I thought to myself – OMG theyre going to make an example out of him and screw us all in the snowball effect.
Sure they really dont have a case to defend his suit, but as Lou stated – they ALWAYS get what they want!
Aleph – a vote fix of some sort sure the hell has crossed my mind as I dont see how the hell Bush won as substantially as he did. I knew a lot of Americans were idiots but damn not vegetables.
Hell now since they have total control of everything theyll vote to extend the terms of a president …. 😮

Fortunately, Both of these changes would require amendments to the Constitution, and ratification by 3/4 of the States. May not be much consolation, but it at least we would see it coming.

InactiveI dont agree at all that Arnold is president material, but if he runs I can see him winning. But at least Arnold isn’t as conservative as Bush, and seems to have a rounder view on issues. I would prefer him to having bush again, or the other bush.
And I think some people underestimate the government. Laws do not apply to them, they are the law, and since they are and make the law, that makes them above the law.

Inactive“girly boy” Arnold is a joke to anyone who is familiar with his cultural background, including his fellow Austrians.
But I agree, he would be a lot better than Bush. He has a sort of down to earth redneck logic that I find a lot preferable since it is predictable and transparent.

Section One of Article II of the U.S. Constitution establishes the requirements one must meet in order to become President. The president must be a natural-born citizen of the United States (or a citizen of the United States at the time the U.S. Constitution was adopted), be at least 35 years of age, and have been a resident of the United States for 14 years.
Austrian born steroid abusers need not apply.

InactiveRepublicans are actually attempting to modify that prerequisite:

InactiveI know, I had heard of that.
Maybe some day when I grow up I can be president!

must be a natural-born citizen
Ok, all you guys with Cesarian births, forget it! Natural births only!

InactiveI think the trailer trash comment is the most profound in this thread. Look at the states Kerry held, CA, NY, DC and most of the east coast, unfortunatly there are more uneducated than educated folks in the USA.
I have lived outsid the US for 7 years now and see what the rest of the world sees and the US is an embarrasment. Don’t have any desire to return and it will only get worse over the next 4 years.

Don’t forget Giuliani was a prosecutor in NY before he became Mayor. He made his name convicting members of the Mob!

Quote:Guiliani to replace Ashcroft or Ridge. Just rumors for now, take with a grain of salt.Funny that you should mention Guiliani, the biggest republican groupie of the campaign. Can we agree it’s a lucky coincidence that Guiliani owns a Security Business (Security, not Securities).
Also, it is a studied and proven phonomenon that how religious a region is has a directly relationship to the level of education. The less educated, the more religious.
Seriously, though, I think the first step to reform should be to have only one thing to decide in a federal election – the presidency. Just one thing, not up to 16, as they had in California. Look how they can manipulate what’s on the ballot to encourage certain demographics to get out and vote.
