gamblogMemberBesides the issue with firefox rejecting all 3rd party cookies I’ve found that IE7 (I ran a quick poll of several people I know using different setups but all using Internet Explorer 7) is blocking the tracking cookies for UB as well. Can anyone else verify this with their IE7 setup? The privacy settings on my system are set to medium which will block 3rd party cookies unless there is a compact privacy document (or something similar to that). I have a note in with Marcela and she says she’s checking with the tech people about it.

If the default installation of IE7 is blocking these cookies than the percentage of traffic we get credit for is going to be way less than 50%.

CASINO JET7MemberInteresting thread. Does anyone know of a decent script or method of managing all outbound links? What I am after is basically an text ad server I suppose- I want to redirect, but I also want to monitor click through rates on the page to optimise as I go along.
Also another thought- do the fact that you have outbound links (both text and alt tags) with relevant keywords hace any impact on your SERPs

gamblogMemberSo far my understanding is that, at least with UltimateBet, these cookies are necessary to track referrals since they no longer want you to put an affiliate ID in the URL that links to them.

gamblogMemberI have a message into Marcela (the ub affiliate manager) about this. If you are concerned about it as well I’d suggest writing to her too.

InactiveSpin21,
You may want to take a look at fastclick.
I wish I would have used it on all my sites and I will never build another one that I don’t use it. It just may fit your needs. It tracks clicks and records the IP of the click origination.
There is a free version and it works extremely well and is fairly easy to setup. It only requires mysql and php.
If you are interested and need help with it, drop me a pm and I will try and help.
Rick
