Carmen (my better half) works in the movie bussiness and does casting for extras. So, we get invited to parties regularly ..

    Have met quite a few “bragging names”, but the biggest include;
Sean Connery, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Dustin Hoffman.

But Martyn’s are in the legendary era

Nah.. I doubt they are better.. yours was a “real” party.. prabably a lot more personal and fun.. these are more like “get togethers” where everybody acts all snobbish etc. – except me of course ;)

Went to Jade Jaggers Birthday party last year – wasn’t invited, just happened to be walking past and was invited in. They mistook me for some singer from a band or something!

When I got in, there was Paris Hilton, James Blunt and Peaches Geldof hanging out.

Apparently there were loads of other celebs there, but the trouble is I’m useless at recognising the stars, so at the time was unaware. Photos in the press the next day showed that there were supermodels, famous bands and a whole load of B list celebs there.

Maybe I spoke to a couple of the supermodels without realising? – some of the women were young, very pretty, tall and unusual looking…

I went to a wedding and sat at a table with Chris Pronger. Does that mean anything to anyone? Hello fellow Canadians. :)

Hmmmm…I know no celebs. I have had chance “conversations” with 3 1/2 that I can think of (but there’s a catch with 2 of them). Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves) and his wife Nancy, Ronnie Wood and Richard Branson.

The proviso is that the conversation with Ronnie Wood was in a queue for the loo at a party and the conversation went along the lines of:

    RW: “**** me, a bloody queue for a ****?!”
    ME: “Yeah”
    RW: “I’m goin’ outside”
    ME: “Yeah”

…and with Richard Branson, passed him on the stairs at Virgin records

    ME “Hi Richard”
    RB “Hi. How Are You?”
    ME: “Fine Thanks”
    RB: “Good”

I’m not exactly trained to be “A list” fodder as you can see :D

Oh yeah…nearly forgot… the boy-band “Blue” ran over my foot in a London backstreet while escaping from a crowd of screaming girlies in their 4×4 once.

Apparently Matt LaBlanc from “friends” is a cousin of mine. I never met him but his mother appears at family reunions from time to time.

    Does that count? :)

Simmo, your chance meetings are like my thumbs up to Jimmy Cricket!

I still cant believe I did it though, what a c*ck!

Slotplayer; being related to someone famous beats it all but only if you have his number on your phone! :wink-wink

I dont there has ever been any famous Beacons, apart from the mountain ranges in South East Wales.

I used to go drinking on a regular basis with John Hurt.

Am also friends with quite a lot of tv and radio people from my previous job in media. I once Dj’d with Boy George, went out for a drink with Jordan, flew to Australia with Tony Blackburn for 2 weeks, and quite a few others. Oh, been drinking with Brad Pitt (when he was still Will Pitt) and Johnny Depp (my best friend used to live with them bitd).

It was fun, but I’m too old for all that these days…

I believe that A LOT of people, used to go drinking on a regular basis with John Hurt! – quality though ;)

Although, I am sorry but for me Renee’s totally blows everything else away!

Your Great Uncle was Ferenc Puskas!!? The Galloping Major!!? That is awesome!

and for those that want proof here’s footage of perhaps one of the cheekiest, most skillful finishes I’ve ever seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWjKQzCdrhk when the ‘Mighty Magyars’ became the first overseas team ever to beat England at Wembley in 1953.

Now, apologies for highjacking the thread but couldn’t let that pass ;)

BTW, a women who lives round the corner used to be one of the kids in Little House on the Prairie – does that count?
