Looks like a few domains changed hands.

What was the total number of domains that were up for auction?

Needless to say a lot of the big ones didn’t change hands… and the few that actually made the list except the bundle were probably the only decent ones available (congrats NameTrader).

I guess I’ll just have to wait for the next one… but I am encouraged by the results because I have a few decent domains :)

FYI Professor, total names for sale was 905 (Moniker shows 904 but Poker.com was moved to a private auction and also did not sell).

Not much action, just as expected from the unreasonable limits…

But WOW and a BIG congrats to whoever sold scores.com for so much money… with $1M bucks you can brand any domain name in the world.

From what I heard before I even went to CAC – poker.com was never on the auction block…

Look’s like the only thing that sold was junk; .VC? :1circling

What you mean St. Vincent and The Grenadines isn’t a decent top level domain? :plain:

there are so many different stories regarding this silent auction it is hard to know what is true. Was slots.com and winner.com actually listed? If so does anybody know the minimums on these?

I am also surprised but happy to hear that scores.com went for nearly 1.2 mil but can anyone confirm this?

Moniker is holding a much bigger auction including Live and silent in June, this should bring in a much larger crowd and more action due to the live part and this should be well attended.

slots.com was listed for 100k I believe and winner.com was listed for a min of $500k as I recall from the CAC brouchure, and I can not tell if they sold this or not. Both of great domains and domains I would like to owe but unless the pro gives me some of his dough I can not afford these domains ;)

Correct on Winner.com, but Slots.com was listed for nearly $6 million.

lol… I was way off… slots.com is a nice domain but is it really worth the $6mill they are looking for?

Winner.com is a good domain and is worth $500k in my eyes but sadly my funds do not allow me to purchase this domain.

Bottom line is, anyone can ask anything for a domain, it’s up to them. But, speaking personally, the reserves on most of the Silent Auction domains are way over what I would pay without traffic.

I think people overprice undeveloped gambling domains consistently. Too much emphasis on “potential” rather than “actual”. It’s bloody hard (and often expensive) to get any site trafficed without having to pay a fortune to get started.

Well said. Name is meaningless without the blood, sweat and tears of hard work and $$ going in to it. I let a premium dotNET poker name go for *****.** (5 digits) but it was not my hard work that took the name off to what it is today.

Example: YouTube. What a corny name but awesome concept.
