It if it was processing I really don’t see how anyone could still be in the US. There are much smaller programs that are doing just fine. Why would giant programs like VA and FA have processing problems when so many other smaller programs have no problems with processing and no intentions of leaving the US? If processing is that difficult these smaller programs would already be out of business. I’m sure the US still makes up at least half of these programs incomes right now and this just doesn’t make sense to me.

while payment processor issues are problematic, i doubt it was the straw that broke the camels back.

i think that the lawyers made the suggestion to stop accepting US players to these separate organizations (FL and VA). this is just risk mitigation. if the court has ruled in favour of kentucky, whats going to stop other states launching the exact same appeals? this recent ruling has substantial ramifications for the whole country (USA) and the world as a whole.

furthermore, i believe the court is asking for the owners of the domain names in question to come out in the open and disclose themselves. casino owners are not too keen on that as then they will be prosecuted by DOJ for albeiting online gambling. it just doesn’t look like the owners would be keen on risking everything and basically going all-in against the Kentucky court ruling.

either, or, i don’t think that we are aware of all the factors that made FL and VA to make such a harsh decision. How much do they rely on US players? 30-50%? who knows…

every year some weird shit happens in this industry, so for many its hardly a sprint, but more of a marathon. i’m quite disappointed by these latest development, but what can we do? this calls for an excellent excuse to get pissed on a thursday…

Has this actually happened for sure? That would put a different spin on this thing entirely.

Microgaming is going to be a publicly traded company just like party, 888, playtech who did pull out of the US. We’ll see what the answers are soon.

You are a very smart man, that is something that I have heard through the grapevine, if this does happen I hope that it will be only temp and for those poor operators that are just starting out and this will for sure kill their business, please if possible look into another software provider and keep your players happy :)

Like Greedy said we are lucky they all stayed in as long as they have.

    Hi again all,

anybody know what would happen to our players if they pulled out of the US and then jumped back in at a later date?

the public theory is the best one I’ve heard so far. makes sense. Nothing else does to me.

Pretty bad way to treat your licensees though considering the size of the market they’re losing.

Just got this. which is encouraging

now we’re sure that you have heard about the unfortunate incident involving several of our casinos and the state of Kentucky recently. We were regrettably threatened with the seizure of several of our domain names and had to take several precautionary measures.

In order to ensure that we don’t run into anymore problems and due to Microgaming constraints we will be blocking all players from the surrounding states of Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Missouri until we are supplied with a proof of identification in the form of a Utility Bill and an Identification Document. The respective players will then be able to continue gaming with us as usual.

We understand that this may be incredibly inconvenient for the players in these selected states but unfortunately our hands our tied. This precautionary measure has been put in place to ensure that no player should have to go without Vegas Partner Lounge’s amazing gaming experience ever again. All existing players will be contacted and notified and we sincerely hope that they continue to game with us.

We would just like to offer you a ‘word of warning’ as affiliates to ensure that you are aware of all new developments at Vegas Partner Lounge. We also hope that if any player that has been locked out does contact you, you will send them to us so that we can assist them.

    Duplicate Exchange Rate:

In addition to this we found duplicate exchange rate entries in the database for USD$ which meant that all profit and loss was calculated twice and led to a significant increase in the casino’s profit margin. The problem was identified when we were in process of preparing October’s commission payments, so all payment had to be halted until this was rectified. We have removed the duplicate entry from the FX table and we recalculated everything again, including the new rates and everything is showing correctly.

You may have noticed that the total amount payable in commission has decreased by nearly half even though the income and payout figures haven’t changed even the slightest bit but the profit margin on which commission is calculated had decreased.

The system was calculating everything twice on those numbers because of the duplicate exchange rates for USD$.

This is only for new account registrations, existing players will still be able to play. At least at Fortune group ,that is the answer my rep just emailed me.

    Hi everyone,

Finally… some good news.. MGS has decided NOT to implement this IP blocking on the states surrounding Kentucky which means players can access their accounts freely with no documentation. I am trying to get the official reason out of them but haven’t had much success. It is still unclear if this is simply a delay or a change in policy. I will keep the updates coming as I receive them.

    All the best,

I am not, never was and never will, try to exploit misery of others for my own benefit. The fact that we are accepting traffic from all 50 us states, was a main part of every thread I’ve posted in cap since we joined the forum.
