InactiveThe list of unknowns
Casino Coins do carry over
Main Street Affiliates – not sure – according to latest announcementNow you can promote all of the Mainstreet Casinos freely without having to worry about negative commissions! Effective March 1, our Negative Carryover policy will cease; negative earnings from one account will no longer be applied to other accounts. And, to make things even easier for you, we’re going to send all of your earnings to you in a single monthly payment!
ReferSpot don’t carry over
I’m not sure about Rich Webmaster…
and Gold Key Cash don’t carry over (Hampton/Portofino, Gold Key, Windows and Magic will be under Wager Junction)P.S. Hope next topic title will be “List of programs that convert”

InactiveThanks vd.

I am going to leave Rich Webmaster and Gold Key Cash where they are for now, until we can confirm that they do/don’t carry over negatives.
P.S. Hope next topic title will be “List of programs that convert”

LOL! I like that idea.

Edited: Your post changed, so I moved Gold Key Cash to the list of programs that does not carry over.

The ‘General Balance’ represents your total commission up to date including extra bonuses and carry-over balances.
my balance is negative right now -current period balance is positive.
Gold Key Cash don’t carry over negatives – according to my stats.
But regarding Main Street Affiliates
without having to worry about negative commissions
…
negative earnings from one account will no longer be applied to other accounts
it’s hard to understand what they want to say. affiliate accounts? player’s accounts?
According to http://www.mainstreetaffiliates.com/faqs.php
What happens if I have negative commission at the end of the month?
If the players you referred win and you have negative commissions at the end of the month, you will not be asked to pay us back. We will, however, deduct those winning amounts from your balance with us, but we will NOT ask you to pay us back.

InactiveThank you, vd752. I updated the list.
Main Street posted something about negative carryover in this thread.
As of March, we’ll be getting rid of our negative carry over policy so that negative earnings from one casino won’t eat up earnings from another. I hope this answers your question.
Cheers,
Tarlan

InactiveSpecial note…
Wagershare (who I think are one of the very best groups out there) has a very unusual policy. If a player wins more than $10,000 there is carry over on that player only.

InactiveI keep teetering on the brink of giving them more exposure, but they have all these weird T&Cs. People praise them and their conduct, but there are all these little things that I keep tripping over in their aff contract. This is one of them. They have all this stuff that they may never use but if they ever decide to you are screwed.
Why have these?

InactiveThanks BJF. The list has been updated. :satisfied
I’m not sure about VIP Profits. Their FAQ page doesn’t agree with what you’re saying. Perhaps you have a special deal?
Do negatives carry over?
Yes, negative balances will carry over. Our merchants are mainly sportsbooks and it would be simply impossible to wipe out negatives at the end of each month. Please note that a sports bettor is very different from a casino player. The average value of a player is much higher and therefore you will have a good chance to earn back any potential losses.

InactiveI just checked and on the login page it has a ticker on the left side that says as of Nov 1st there is no carry over. Now perhaps this is just for the casinos and not the sports book. Not sure.

If the casino itself doesn’t carry forward negatives, then I guess this belongs in the “Programs that don’t carry over negative balances” category.
Thanks BJF.
Edited: Presumably, if the casino revenue is calculated separately, this means that the casino is not bundled with the sportsbook. Can anyone confirm this?

InactiveDuck It !!!
I’m going to start to go to church this Sunday and I promise that I’ll never gamble again or promote gambling affiliate programs.
If we can’t get referring url stats – in our stats – what is the resolution for:
“carry forward negatives”
If you can’t even get a simple referring url – in your stats
Why the hell are you so worried about what is carried forward in a negative way.
You were getting screwed when you didn’t even know where the income is coming from.
Now – all of a sudden – let’s worry about getting screwed over with negatives.
Don’t get it – sorry.
February 21, 2006 at 11:27 pm #684305Anonymous
InactiveTrue, referring URL stats are still very important. That is something I would like to see implemented at every affiliate program in the future. It hasn’t been forgotten.

The purpose of this list (and the other one) is to help us see what we have in front of us now, at this point in the game. There are many characteristics that can be used to evaluate an affiliate program. Examples:
– negative carryover
– bundling
– minimum payout
– stats quality/accuracy
– conversion ratio
– responsiveness
– player treatment
– etc. Some of these qualities are subjective, and can vary from affiliate to affiliate. The first three items in the above list are measurable, “black and white” characteristics. Organizing the affiliate programs by these traits is useful to a point, but of course many other things need to be considered, such as the conversion ratio, how well the players are treated, etc.
Certainly, negative carryover and bundling aren’t the only things to consider when deciding which affiliate program to promote.

Your last post – is – Spot On
You have the ability to carry the message forward – stick to the subject and illustrate your findings – far better than I – and with a lot more finesse.
I complement you.
I support you 100% – if that means anything and keep up the good work.
I just wish that I had the strength to cover this material in an open forum at a Gamblers Affiliate Convention – should the parties be amenable to hearing such topics.
Peace. Out.
