I agree with the majority. I didn’t see a direct threat just a cocky manager, I mean if an affiliate told me he was leaving due to my companies bad image I certainly wouldn’t say “hold on Im gunna have a cig” thats just bad business.

I think this is just a misunderstanding but instead of proving Cpays is shady it revealed a another problem, a manager that doesn’t really care, which is worse? Either way it doesn’t sound like a good relationship.

I agree with the majority, I can’t see a threat here, just a misunderstanding.

Cpays have a bad rep, probably well earned. But from personal experience, I’ve always been paid by them. Admittedly, I’m only earning 3-4 figures every month (although I’ve had a couple of 5 figure months and been paid just the same), I still enjoy the money!

My model is probably a little different to most people here though, so I don’t have any banners as such that they can threaten I keep up or withhold payments.

My aff manager has changed about 3 times in the past 2 years, but I imagine working for Cpays probably isn’t that much fun anyway, so can understand the attrition.

I agree with the stance that it wasnt intended as a threat per se. Dave was saying if you work with other Playtech Operators you will have problems also and get paid less in his opinion.

What I find ironic is he is also basically saying is all Playtech Operators are a headache to work with including CPays, so as long as you were getting a headache anyway you might as well be supplied with biggest asprins!

Pardon me Lou, but where exactly did “Dave” make any reference to a software provider or a group of its licensees?

i dont think its threatening at all but as its business then its always good to be cautious. but there’s cautious and paranoid – make sure you stay on the right side of the line!

all the other aff programs? Don’t see where he made mention of any particular software provider…

Would agree with that I don’t see a real threat there. Probably believes that “his” program is the best, and if choosing not to work with his program you will not make as much money. Since I know the other affiliate managers and know what kind of issues they have with their program etc.

Is it only me that wonders why he is contacting the affiliate manger, tell him I will not promote you any more and then become annoyed when he tries to keep him as an affiliate, it is his job to do that.

What did he expect the Aff manager would say?

And then that a misunderstanding occurred is a bit of bad luck.

    Cheers

All the operators of that software platform Spear. Read the entire post and the context.

This is quite clearly not a threat, but rather a really hamhanded attempt to retain an affiliate. Saying “leave if you want to leave” and basically implying that one should “suck up” the negative aspects of their program, then passing this off as ok because everybody affiliate program has negative aspects is a pretty tenuous approach to take.

If this is the level of professionalism levied toward preserving an maintaining partnerships you’re definitely better off elsewhere.

I did the first time :)

The OP makes reference to a couple of Playtech groups. The support person did not at all make any references to anything other than “other programs”. It is thus not correct to say that the support person was referring to other Playtech programs.

I’ll leave it at that. But I hope you see where I’m coming from ;)

There are plenty of solid operators with a Playtech solution. But the very dominant players with this platform (Europartners and Cpays) do have some of the worst reps in the business.

Playtech is however promoting one of the best poker/casino platforms today and do of course also attract good and reputable operators.
