So now that Andy came out with it I can say that this is bullshit on HYPE ‘s end! Kwblue won that trip months ago BEFORE these issues came up, he drove and sent them HUGE numbers and they owe him several k, he has been on the verge of selling off his sites due to these jerks! There are no excuses the software owners need to step up to the plate and settle these accounts now!!!

As far as no payment if we run our mouths, they think this is bad??? This is nothing get a handful of us pissed enough to make a blacklisted page on our sites and do the ring like we have with other casinos and see how they would like that, if they are smart they will pay up!

Well I hope you’re right and we get a positive outcome, however the tone of that email we got doesn’t bode well.

It’s not clear to me exactly why the software provider should be responsible for this. I notice the affiliate sites are down :unhappy:

If this situation is not resolved by Friday, June 8, 2007, I will blacklist Hype Gaming and Player Preferred software. I’ll happily exchange links with similar pages.

I agree, Engineer. It’s about time we all do something about this. I will use all my sites and their power to blacklist Hype and Player Preferred software as well if no communication occurs before Friday.

That is plenty of time (since it would be 2 weeks past the date they said they would further communicate) for them to draft a letter of communication.

Sorry to hear about this development – although I must say that it’s not unexpected given the previous communications – and the attitude of the licensee.

One thing that interests me KWBLUE is that you’re obviously privy to additional information regarding the interests that owned HypeGaming and that they’re not short of a bob or two … but that it didn’t help.

Which allows me to make a couple of points that people should consider :

    (1) Affiliate managers are just the hired help.
No matter how much you may “like” your contact at a company – do not let it cloud your business judgement when you’re not being paid, or when correspondance is not being answered.

Deal with companies that pay on time and reply to emails.

    (2) Size and scale is important in this business.
Small 1-2 man teams are a risky proposition. Even if the “owner” is a financial heavyweight … they will have ring-fenced the business in a corporate structure and experienced business people allow new ventures to fold every day.

Deal with companies that have a proven track record.

Unfortunately the UIGEA has driven a lot of the reliable publically listed companies out of the American market – and there are a few underfunded, underexperienced new entrants.

Be very, very, very careful with ANY of these new ventures out there – realise that failure is an option with them – and do not dedicate too much of your advertising portfolio to them.

It’s a risky business anyway so it’s prudent to avoid business risk …
    :huh2:

The Gooner makes a couple of good points here. Affiliate Managers are simply employees of the company they have been hired on by, and very seldom have any controlling power over the decisions made and overall management of the company. Then when :bullshit: hits the fan, we are unable to comment because of the contracts we’ve signed. There are a few posts in this thread which are a little upsetting to me, especially from affiliates who know me better – I would only assume that those of you who have been in the industry for any length of time would’ve come to the same conclusion that Gooner has, as he’s stated above. Call us jerks, call us magicians for disappearing, call us whatever you like – but realize that we too have families, commitments in life and are trying to make a decent living in an otherwise hostile and volatile industry. Does anyone on here honestly think that we’d put our necks on the line if we thought there would be problems in the future?

At the end of the day, we can only relay what information we are given. If that information is inconsistent, chances are it’s because it has filtered down from somewhere else -> whether that be the operators OR the software company OR somebody else, who knows.

In any event, I understand everyone’s frustration and I’d like to let you know that I’ve accepted a position with one the largest online gaming and entertainment companies and am no longer working with Hype or Player Preferred – I wish both companies good luck in their future endeavors and trust that they will do the best thing for the affiliates, the players and in their own best interests.

That said, I’d like to continue my commitment to you – the affiliates – who have done nothing but support me in my past projects. After all, without your help I wouldn’t have the knowledge I have today.

I won’t comment on the current situation at Hype or Player Preferred, but would be happy to speak to you about my future plans and how I’d like you to be a part of them. Feel free to send me off an email to jgkelly76@yahoo.com or add me to your Skype list – jgkelly76 so we can chat more. I’ll be offline for the next few weeks, preparing for my new role and eagerly awaiting the birth of my second child after which point I’ll be jumping back into action with the most confidence I’ve had in this industry since I started over 4 years ago. I don’t want to spill the beans just yet, as I have a few items left to take care of before I make the move.

Looking forward to working with you all soon.

    Cheers,
    -Justin K.

Good luck Justin! I never attributed any of the issues to either you or Tristan – I had some idea where they came from… It’s unfortunate that you cannot stay there to facilitate payments or beat them down for us :( But – we all understand that you cannot stay with a company who’s very future is in a teetering state.

BTW everyone – several of my players can no longer get (suppotr/ casino management) to answer any questions (relating to cashouts)… I have players that were being communicated with daily and now they are not being communicated with at all… Looks like it’s back to the old tricks :(

No – I have no idea why people are still playing, I just know that some have been when the casino started to actually communicate with players on a regular basis. Now that communication has stopped completely :(

A couple of my players have been communicated with again and payments promised to them. Free money given for ‘troubles’ with the withdrawals. It looks like they are trying to keep some players happy, I guess.

Anyone heard anything on the affiliate side of things? I’ve tried contacting them once again – but haven’t heard anything back :(

I havent’ heard anything, or know of anyone who’s heard of anything from the affiliate side. Just waiting and hoping.

If I have time tonight, I’m going to go ahead with blacklisting Hype Gaming and Player Preferred.

They aren’t communicating, they aren’t paying us, and it looks like they have no intention of honoring the contest that they ran a few months ago, where kwblue won a trip to Australia.

I’ll exchange links with similar blacklist pages — send me a PM with the URL, or (better yet) post the URL here.

I believe they are in court and assets are frozen and people are gagged.
