oh, I did!
You betcha I did!
April 22, 2004 at 2:39 pm #648225AnonymousInactiveHere is a letter Cindy sent to member affiliate programs:
Hi Everyone,
I hope this email finds everyone well!First the big news – If you haven’t heard by now, I’m selling GPWA for several personal reasons, not the least of which is so that I can launch several new sites I have in the works. The “new venture” bug has been biting me for nearly a year now, and I can’t ignore it anymore. The sale is only open to current GPWA members, several of which are qualified and seriously interested, and the members will have to approve the new buyer; the intent of everyone at GPWA is that the basic operating philosophy of GPWA will not be changed with the new ownership. (and I’ll be staying a member) Hopefully, the sale will be completed within the next few weeks, and I’ll be sure to get the announcements of it out to all of you.
In the meantime, business will continue as usual and several of you are up for forum renewals. I’ll be getting the invoices out to you in the next week.
Second – I think your banners at GPWA would work much better if you somehow listed the casinos you’re representing on the banners. We get a lot of traffic through the board and not everyone is familiar with the names of the affiliate programs or the casinos they represent. If you agree with this, I’ll get new banners up for you as soon as you get them to me.
That’s it for now. I’ll be out of town from Thursday until Sunday, so if you write to me during that time I’ll get back to you as soon as I get back.
Thank you all for your participation at the board!!

April 29, 2004 at 6:34 pm #648569AnonymousInactive$40,000 is the real surprise – with that alexa rating and with the times – hard for newbies – I would never ever have paid anything remotely like that.
April 30, 2004 at 1:13 pm #648615AnonymousInactiveWell it is a surprise and it isnt …
I think he was/is one of the members that always tried to prey on newbie webmasters … he always posted in the public forums pushing his traffic and pushing his hosting plans … I guess he sees it as a way to push even more.
But 40k – yah that thats a big surprise – maybe it was 4k and they inflated the cost 10x to make them seem important?
