July 2, 2007 at 5:35 pm #741421AnonymousInactiveEcoCard will stop accepting applications from Americans in the next few days. However – and this is why this is important – they will continue to provide service to current customers. So if you’re in, you’re in!
Coffee pot rumors I hope it is not true
July 2, 2007 at 5:38 pm #741422vladcizsolMemberEcoCard has stated that they do not want their product used by US players as a way to fund online gambling accounts. They made this announcement:
Quote:IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR US LOCATED ECOCARD CUSTOMERS:
In response to recent publicity about the use of EcoCard for online gambling purposes EcoCard would like to draw its US located customers attention to the Terms of Service they have previously agreed to, and in particular, Section 8 – International Use, which clearly states;8.1. Recognizing the global nature of the Internet, you agree to comply with all local rules regarding online conduct and acceptable content. Specifically, you agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding the transmission of technical data exported from the country in which you reside. It is our assumption that international users are signing up for an EcoCard Account only after determining that opening and maintaining an EcoCard Account violates no laws or regulations in their respective country and jurisdiction. If you are an international user, you warrant that you are violating no law or regulation by your use of EcoCard, and you indemnify us for any and all liability that might arise from your use of the Service.
We thank you for your cooperation.
Best regards,

:rockband:July 13, 2007 at 1:00 am #742363AnonymousInactiveI got these 2 posts on my forum that came to one of my players from JF. I am not sure what US players will do if Eco pulls out of US.
Dear XXXXXXX,
As a loyal player, I wanted to give you a heads up on what is about to
happen to EcoCard, your preferred payment option. EcoCard has informed
us that they are pulling out of the US market, but they are ensuring
that good players will have another secure depositing method made for
them. But what is a good player?
According to EcoCard, it is a player who has deposited
over $500. Our records show that you are only $150 away from this mark.To secure your place at All Slots Casino, be sure to deposit at least
this amount by this Saturday, July 14th, 2007.and then this:
I just wanted to clarify the message contained in yesterday’s EcoCard
email. We received notification from EcoCard that they are pulling their
payment option out of the US market for gaming transactions.Players need to accumuluate $500 in transactions with EcoCard to move
to their new method either at the Jackpot Factory or any other
establishment. We let players know how far they were from that goal with us
because we have no way of knowing if they are depositing elsewhere.EcoCard will be sending official notification to its
customers next week. If you have any questions or
concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.Anyone have any more info? Does this mean as a US affiliate, we won’t be able to get commissions via Eco as well?

SlotplayerJuly 13, 2007 at 3:42 pm #742405AnonymousInactiveI did, strange for sure and here is what they sent to one of my players today….
Thank you for your contacting us.
It is true that EcoCard is reviewing its position in the US market, and will put in place whatever measures are required of financial institutions if and when proposals are published by the US government in accordance with the recently passed UIGEA bill. Of course it is possible that other payment methods may be made available to you by the sites which you frequent, and if you trust those operators to suggest dependable companies then it is your decision whether to use those services or not. Ecocard will not promote these services.
If EcoCard needs to take action to block gambling sites for US members, it will be because it is legally required to do so, and the company will therefore not involve itself in any other payment solutions that may be considered to be in breach of US law.
Please feel free to contact us should you require any further assistance.
Kind Regards,
