I think bodog did their rejecting and high standards for a different reason. If you got rejected and they said you weren’t good enough it almost comes off as an insult but I am sure it works for them because some affiliates will go out of their way to prove them wrong that they are an affiliate worthy of their high standards. It gets the dialogue going with the AM and it’s probably a better start to a program than just signing up and not talking to anybody. It’s like walking up to a hot girl and telling her she is probably a bad kisser. Her response is ‘what do you mean I’m a bad kisser, I’ll show you’ and now you’re like ‘haha this sales technique works like a charm’.
Agreed. And then when the affiliate does get approved, they almost feel part of an exclusive club or whatever, and obligated to promote them more strongly and so on.

biggygMemberWe promote a few non certified programs and there are couple groups here that are certified that i wouldnt touch .For us CAP is best place to buy services and content ,find link partners and get feedback from other webmasters on particular programs.

CasinolistenMemberI like the idea that there is an accountability factor here with the backing of many other affiliates. Like many on here have stated, that there is much more value in an open forum of other affiliates than a simple e-mail which can be ignored.
Not that CAP certified is the only factor, but at least you have a track record.
The track record is a big thing, because it only takes ONE player to have something negative happen which in turn could cause him to trash not only the program, but the site which referred him to the program then you as an aff. lose credibility in what you promote.
Which is why CAP certified makes sense. At least you know you are dealing with credible programs. IMHO. -
