InactiveI tend to make my decisions based on feedback from players and other affiliates here at CAP and at Meister + GPWA. If I’m totally honest, the fact that certification is paid for means I don’t consider it a relevant factor when deciding who to represent, but that’s just my view and whichever way you look at it, it’s great to have a line of communication open with the operator. So in a nutshell, yes I have several very good ones that aren’t certified.

InactivePretty much like Simmo!
I do my own research on programs – and if they are certified here at CAP then it’s easier to find more information. Sometimes the CAP forum provides an endorsement from happy affiliates … sometimes it does not.
Also CAP is/was pretty much US / Casino centric … so many of my favoured programs were not at CAP, and had never even heard of CAP.
This is slowly changing as CAP expands into new ventures and events like CAP Euro and CAP Down Under …
So yes – I promote several programs that are not at CAP … and I usually mention to them that CAP might be a place they should look at joining.

InactiveI love the fact the casinos on CAP are responsible for feedback and contact so it a a GIANT plus to deal with affiliates listed here. I do although promote one that are not listed here but I take the responsibility of dealiong with player / affiliate issues on my own as well. If I have a problem with an affiliate and I do not like the response I de-list the group and let my players know.

InactiveI do promote non-certified programs but it can definitely help me to decide to promote a program if I know they’re listed at CAP. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re any more reputable but it does mean I know there’s a line of communication if I need it – and I often tell new programs that I’ll look at them if/when they get certified.

Inactive>>it barely lists any bingo affiliate programs. my guess is that its too expensive for bingo rooms to be certified here.
if it is the reason, maybe a different package for casino related programs

vladcizsolMemberQuote:Pro – why Bodog are not certified? We have certainly approached them dozens of times, but in the past when they were gigantic they had the atitude that they wanted to pick and choose affiliates by invitation only. Now that things arent so rosey we hope they climb down from the ivory tower and join us white and blue collar affiliates.
Regarding Bingo, they do operate on a different scale of revenue then Casinos and Poker. I do think the cost of certification is a barrier for some groups. I’ve asked the sales team to look into this, lets hope they can work out a suitable solution.

InactiveYeah, Bodog wanted me to ‘justify’ them ‘allowing’ me to promote them. Uh…. fat and chance spring to mind.
They’ll never find themselves on my site until they can justify to ME how their attitude has changed.

vladcizsolMemberThey snubbed a number of very succesful affiliates in the past fiction so at least you were in good company. Never could figure out the rationale behind this approach as it probably did more harm then good. Bad affiliates can always be removed so why shot gun everyone?
Like I said, now that they arent “top of the world” they are likely re-assessing this approach and I hope we see more of them in the community.

InactiveYeah, with them being such a huge name in online gambling, it’s ludicrous that they handled their affiliate program so poorly.
They actually told me they’d looked at my site and wanted me to promote them – but they wanted me to tell them what I’d be doing to promote them, where I’d list them, etc. before they’d accept me as an affiliate.
Yeah, okay :roflmao:

Bodog is not that bad
if i have to nominate for a bad one,
no one can come close to Neteller affiliate programDecember 27, 2008 at 2:47 pm #791029Anonymous
InactiveFrankly, if I ran an aff program I would pick and choose who I wanted as aff. I wouldn’t want to be listed along with casinos I considered rogue.
I see nothing wrong with that. If they don’t want to carry you, ask why. Maybe it’s something you are not aware of and they have some good input or ideas that will ultimately make you more successful. If you are making a ton of money and they reject you, well, too bad for them. :hattip:

ClubContMemberI think bodog did their rejecting and high standards for a different reason. If you got rejected and they said you weren’t good enough it almost comes off as an insult but I am sure it works for them because some affiliates will go out of their way to prove them wrong that they are an affiliate worthy of their high standards. It gets the dialogue going with the AM and it’s probably a better start to a program than just signing up and not talking to anybody. It’s like walking up to a hot girl and telling her she is probably a bad kisser. Her response is ‘what do you mean I’m a bad kisser, I’ll show you’ and now you’re like ‘haha this sales technique works like a charm’.

InactiveI was never rejected – in fact, they liked my sites. However, I wasn’t going to waste time justifying to them my ‘approval’.

InactiveFor the most part, they seek out who they want. They email you and ask you if you want to join. If you don’t get an invite, then you can apply and they will want to see your sites and may ask questions.
Really, anyone can do business with who ever they want. The crucial point is, do they keep their contract once they have one. So far with bodog that’s a yes.
(Sadly, I have gotten so cautious that I have to use “so far”. The days of general trust are over.)

nick777MemberI generally, if not all, work with programs that are certified. I like to see what more experienced webmasters use/say about affiliate programs. That means a lot to me here at CAP forum – great guide for trying new programs since members here promote them and I learn from their experience as well. :hattip:
