Hi everyone,
I have been asked to do a 30 minute session on ‘Marketing’ at the upcoming CAC in Montreal. As everyone knows ‘Marketing’ is a vast topic and our company Chalk does a lot of different things. We do work for operators, affiliates, affiliate managers, non-gaming clients, etc.My question to you, what do you think I should cover in my session?
Take a look at the agenda that is posted on the CAC site and let me know what holes I should fill in.Thanks.

- Affiliate Marketing 101 – Introduction to Affiliate Marketing for New Affiliates
- Click Fraud
- Legal Arena for Affiliates: Online Gaming Focus
- Landing Page Testing & Tuning for Maximum Profits
- Outside the Box Thinking: Ideas to Increase Revenue with Online Gaming
- Tips for Super-Affiliates
- Poker Players Opinions & Suggestions to Online Poker Rooms
- Legal Action Against the US Government Over the UIGEA Act
- Site Hosting: Issues for Online Businesses
- Detecting gaming Scams with Software
- GeoLocation for Affiliate Marketing: Use for Delivering Customized Content and Targeted Ads
- Country Demographics for Online Gaming
- Ruby on Rails (ROR), PHP and MySQL – Latest Programming Developments for Webmasters
- Gaming Software – Latest Developments
- THE ADAM ANHANG MEMORIAL FINAL PANEL DEBATE – (a.k.a.: The “Beer Session”)
As for someone from Chalk, I guess you guys could talk about content and the importance of. I used to work for BetUS and I know we used you guys there and you offered a great service.
I can’t wait to hear how people explain Ruby on Rails to people, I am a graduate software engineer, I would love to hear how that is explained and received by everyone :hattip:
Chalk – you are great content providers so perhaps a seminar on the importance of that? I know you do a lot of sports content and it’s a slightly difference market but if you can cross the divide and show how some of your principles are applicable to gaming affiliates (non sports) that would be great. There are a few sports affiliate guys on here too would like to hear about your service too I am sure! :rockband:
July 22, 2007 at 1:45 pm #743238AnonymousInactiveOur two usual sponsors programs don’t seem to be exhibiting, so we are on the lookout for someone to sport us some passes.
We can definitely promise some good poker players for the courteous sponsor! :hattip:
Thanks
OryP.S – Mark it seems the Hotel does not know about the CAC group rate.
July 27, 2007 at 5:02 am #743821AnonymousInactiveIt seems like there are hardly any exhibitors for this. Is this still going on for sure?
July 27, 2007 at 6:00 am #743828AnonymousInactiveI dont think many people are going. I have decided that I’m not. None of the programs I deal with are showing up.
July 27, 2007 at 6:53 am #743830PatrickMMemberMark and Greg both told me that a lot of people are going.
PS. I’ll be there neckin’ really bad french beer – Le Fin du Monde or maybe even enjoying Molson Ex which you can’t get out here in the west. If you wanna go for a pint gimmie a shout :capmiami:
My only wish is that hockey season had begun so I could watch a Habs game.
July 27, 2007 at 8:03 am #743833AnonymousInactiveWell its a bit of a problem there are no exhibitors as their are no programs giving out passes. Don’t feel like like buying 2-3 tickets when there are 4 exhibitors in there.:tooconfus
Mark, any news?

That was kind of my point. Right now there is no value for the high ticket cost. A hand full of exhibitors, many of the speakers from past conferences, no parties…. where is the incentive to attend???
July 28, 2007 at 10:00 pm #743970AnonymousInactiveJust saw this as I am traveling.
We continue to get registrations for this event. Many major players are coming down.
I said from the beginning, “this event is for the ‘die hards’ in the business.” Its in August and its in North America. I think we’re all smart enough on this forum to know what it implies and entails. Simply put, we do not expect 1000 people like we had in Amsterdam several months ago.
If there is an affiliate program you are looking for, contact them and ask if they will be participating.
Weblight, fill out the sponsored affiliate form. Give as much info as possible. We are working with several programs that want new affiliates. Things should end up being fine on that end.
I’m updating the agenda this weekend. We have several new speakers to add.

August 8, 2007 at 6:41 am #744996AnonymousInactiveHas anyone decided to come? haven’t heard many developments on this.
August 8, 2007 at 7:25 am #744999AnonymousGuestwhile the incentives are good…… not so sure the truth behind the front…… is as such.
ya…. it’ll be diehards….. no doubt.
I don’t know Marc… though i have always thought you were a seller first.. and told truth second. .
sorry if that’s to the bone… I have no reason to feel different.
August 8, 2007 at 12:21 pm #745028AnonymousInactiveWell, I think that Mark has put together very good events in the past and look forward to this one also.
A bigger attendance would be nice though.
August 8, 2007 at 1:28 pm #745044AnonymousInactiveTo all the ones who asked me, I wont be able to be at CAC in Montral since we are launching within 7 days…
I will be at CAPEROP and I will post there to the ones who wants to meet me…

August 8, 2007 at 11:20 pm #745095AnonymousInactivebb1webs – We never met? I thought we met sometime in the past. It seems to me that I’ve seen you on the boards forever….your screen name stands out in my mind for a long time.
Then again, I’ve met alot of affiliates. I thought I’ve pretty much met most of the ‘old-timers’ by now.
As for the event…we would love to see a crowd the size of Amsterdam (over 1000 people). But we need to be realistic here. I’ve never hidden that fact.
Still, quite a few people are coming. We should have most of the sponsored affiliates taken care of by this week or early next.
