InactiveLet me see if I can provide some insight into your question:
Our Referral Report does provide a specific id to each referral, and allows you to see which site your referral came from, as well as all their performance stats. Personal details are not disclosed as a means to respect privacy. A profile can be set up to track individual campaigns, where you can see the performance of each profile that is set up.
Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
Hope this helps
Thanks

InactiveAlthough referall IDs are useful, I’d shoot myslef if I had to go add one of these to every link on evey page of every one of my sites.
Yeah it would have been nice if I set up all mu URLs with referral Ids, but I DIDN’T and I am not going back to thousand of links to add these.
Maybe a more proficient programmer could automate this, but I would like it done for me so I can spend my time creating content–man, I’m a WRITER, Not a programmer.
I got into affiliate marketing because I can WRITE well, now I almost have a self-inflicted Masters degree in Web Design and programming

InactiveMaybe – just Maybe
Some people – just don’t know what we are talking about.
And when I say “we” – I mean the nice people who have posted to this thread.
Dictionary.com says:
Referrer
“To assign or attribute to; regard as originated by”
I will contact Jen on Monday. I am an affilaite with Income Access
Voodooman – I know exactly what I mean – and I know exactly what you mean – along with kwblue and Engineer.
You said:
“Although referall IDs are useful, I’d shoot myself if I had to go add one of these to every link on evey page of every one of my sites.”
I know what you mean.
Does everybody else know what Voodooman means.
If you don’t. Just raise your hand and we will answer your question.
Refferal url stats – means – just that.
The URL from where the click originates from.
Say I have a page with a banner on it. It could very simply be:
xhttp://www.youbettowin.com/gaming/category/bingo/
I love to know – when I check my stats – that I can get into detail about where the click came from. I click on the date in the month’s stats and I see – OH
Someone was at my page:
xhttp://www.youbettowin.com/gaming/category/bingo/And clicked on the banner or text link for CasinoA – and so – oh great.
My advertising strategy has actually worked.WHY? Because the program that I’m affiliated with was kind enough to provide referral statistics.
Does that make it any clearer.
Someone – please chime in.
“a specific id” does absolutely nothing for me with a Blog or any other form of a site for that matter.
Let’s go back to school folks and understand – just what does a Referrer mean.
Is it possible – that people running affiliate programs – just don’t understand what Referrer Stats mean?
I beg the question?
Have you all noticed – how many companies out there that run affiliate programs have rushed up to the plate and offered to improve the way they treat affiliate webmasters by providing Referrer Stats.
ONE.

InactiveYou sure do, Roo, and I love those stats too.
(eheh, I am a poet! Well, at least I speak in rhymes!
)It is very valuable to know where clicks originate.
Some other programs call the sub affiliates, the affiliates you “referred” referrals.
Both meanings make sense, but having two meanings floating around for the same term in stats is confusing.

InactiveOK, I have been lurking and reading and formulating this and I still don’t think I can get it out right but here goes:
Randy is right you can set it up that way….but why?
How come as affiliates whos job is to promote and send traffic to Site A has to be left to wonder what a click is and WHO is clicking.
I can use my stat counter to see where people are coming from to get to my site. Down to a map point if I wanted to see it. I used that information to determine who I might be able to promote. Like recently adding WPTOnline who doesn’t allow US bettors. I know how many of my visitors come from non US territories and deemed it worthwhile.
Referal URL would be a nice start on better statistics to find out specificly who is clicking from where. I have seen many posts on this forum and others asking for help or complaining about their stats. I have “x” amount of clicks and “x” amout of downloads but only “x” amount of players or some other combination of the above.
I would think that the affiliate programs would be interested if 50 people clicked through to there landing page and 0 downloaded! Wouldn’t you wonder why and what was turning them off when they got there?
I think the stats we receive from some programs leave a lot to be desired and I know can be better. It’s like they give you a picture of a building and tell you build it and then hold you responsible if something goes wrong.
Maybe I am totally off base here but for someone to say to you “Trust me, you had 100 clicks 10 downloads and made this much money” just begs for me to say “Prove It!”
I leave you with one example: UB is admittedly have trouble tracking Firefox browser. They are working on a fix. The question was raised about how many others might have that problem. As an affiliate we would NEVER know because there is no thorough tracking available to us. To me, knowing what browser is being used and url they clicked from would be nice.
I have only been an affiliate now for three years so this is just my 1 cent worth.

InactiveCongratulations Roo and RevenueGiants.com
I figured – when I saw Dominique’s post – I better check my stats with Revenue Giants. She certainly knows what she’s talking about.
I was just there this morning checking my stats – but granted….
I didn’t look thoroughly enough and expand the stats.
YIPPEE – my first Sponsor who actually knows and speaks the language of referring urls. And on top of that – much more.
Granted – I only joined RevenueGiants last month. Was looking to promote the famous BingoHall but I got a bonus with SlotsVillage.
I SEE:
“Action for Link Name or SourceID for this Month
* Name: Click on the name to show you the referring URLs for this link. The name is what you called your link when you created it.
** SrcID: Click on the Source ID to show the all time history for this link. The Source ID is the system generated link code.”Then you go to:
Life time Statistics for this SourceID
And then:
BINGO
The Top 50 Referring URLs for Source ID
So – for Slots – I get what I was looking for:
xhttp://www.youbettowin.com/gaming/biggest-new-player-slots-bonuses-on-the-net/
The Bonus is – is what they say here:
“Remember by using the code provided you are able to utilize all the built in tracking features that RevenueGiants.com provides including banner impressions.”
You not only get tracking features – you get referring urls.
*******************************************
Well – this is a first for me in the Casino/Gambling/Sportsbook arena. Glad to have joined you. I got a lot of banners and text links to replace – but that is of little consequence.
****************
Roo – You have great Blackjack and Slots advertising for Winward Casino along with superior Advertising Tools and Resources.
Keep up the good work. It’s a Win Win company for affiliates. You should advertise more – about your great stats.
You are a Giant……….amongst Gambling Revenue Affiliate Programs…
and you are not a third party affiliate program – and that probably is the reason why you are the leader of the Giants. Your Wireless for Players is outstanding. That’s the wave of the future and so are your Stats.RevenueGiants.com is:

Guestbecause we could add the referrer url of where a player was delivered from without too much trouble. We already collect this data
there’s the thing. Tim is absolutely correct in that this data is collected its just a matter of whether or not it is made available to you.
Yes this info would be very valuable … I should think moreso to the sponsor than the aff in the big scheme of things. After all, the more we are able to make, the more they make. stands to reason.
Why this isn’t made available is a mystery to me. It seems to me that quite a few programs offer tidbits of the puzzle … and if you were to say, take RB’s stats and merge them with those at say … WS, you’d have the complete picture. *that may be a bad coupling, … just off my head as an example. But you know what I mean. Some places offer some things, while others offer others … and I am always wondering why they don’t offer the complete picture.
Now that said; some of the places which have the best stats are the least performers for me and in fact most of them aren’t even on my sites any more because the bottom line will always be the final decision maker for me on who gets best billing. best stats come far second.

InactiveNot sure I agree on this one – the good stats over time enable me to squeeze more out of the properties. Long as I am motivated to try to make the very best of something, thorough stats definitely help me do that.

InactiveAbsolute poker has my favorite stats.. Purple Lounge seems to use the same program (or atleast it looks the same, does the same stuff)
I can click, quick stats.. thats for when I first wake up, and my eyes are blurry, and I want to know how much cash I made there last night..
I can click player accounts.. it shows the username.. how many hands, deposits, etc.. I like that, I have forums on my sites.. So I get to know these ppl, its nice to see that after I said last night, hey go play AP they rule.. the ppl I was talking to.. did..
It lets me know which groups of ppl on each site, i need to work on.. I know how many sign ups I have, I know who deposited.. and I can figure out .. who didnt.. I don’t tell them I know this.. but it gives me a headstart at leading them in the right direction..
Fortuna Affiliates seems to give alot of information, as well (that company that promotes Titan).. I dunno maybe to much information, cuz I really don’t find it useful, and what I do want to know doesnt seem to be there.

That is the Income Access interface. Of course Income Access uses it, and Vegas Affiliates uses it too.

Here is my case in point; February 8, 2006
I get this hit on my server stats:
xhttp://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=free+bingo+games+no+deposit+required&srch_type=0&first=11&FORM=PERE
Page 2 of 179,590The hit lands on:
xhttp://www.youbettowin.com/bingo/I put up that page last month. I know the page activity. I have 5 Sponsors on the page.
BingoHall – RevenueGiants
BingoCafe
BingoCard
KiwiBingo
SuperSlotsBingoWhere did I go to see if the Search Engine hit converted at all?
I went to Revenue Giants. Why? They are the only one with referring url stats.
BINGO
Roo – you can check on this and I have to add…Revenue Giants are good – but to be the absolute best – having “daily” versus “monthy” referring url stats would be fantastic. But I can live with the present situation.
Under tracking code Source ID for youbettowin/102867
I get xhttp://www.youbettowin.com/bingo/1 Sign Up
****************
That’s a fair and pretty accurate summary for me of a click thru – showing me a referring url – to a join.
How can I summarize this as being a join via an SE hit – to a Sponsor? Only an educated guess. I study my traffic daily.
But the 4 other programs – don’t show me referring urls. So – yes – it’s guess work – but why should it have to be so hard.
Knowing that you created a page – got it into the engines – got a click and got a join……..the tracking of all……….should be OUR gaming experience. That should be the fun in what we do as affiliates.

We try hard to give affiliates the tools they need to succeed… after all if you win we win… amazingly simple really

I will look at breaking referring URLs down to another level in future RG upgrades.

InactiveThanks Roo
So far today – February 14th – on this thread we know of
RevenueGiants
as an affiliate program that offers referring url stats
Thanks to Engineer
I am signed up with a few programs that show you the “Top 10 Referring URLs.” One program that does this is Wager Profits (SciFi Casino and Breakaway Casino). If you promote poker, check out ShareTheRake.com (Superior Poker and Share the Rake). They show you the Top 10 URLs too.
Possibly WagerShare will be added to this list.
Does anyone else know of affiliate programs that provide referring url stats?
Any Poker or Sportsbook operations?
Come up to the plate – aff programs !!!
