Thanks professor for keeping us informed. Unfortunatley I have very little time on my hands to continue persue this matter until September.
Thus far I do see some improvement, but there is so much to explore. Just the adware issue alone would take a month. Each domain owned by 888 would have to be checked out. Plus all the other issues, perhaps to cut down on time it would be nice to delegate tasks to people.
It would bring me great satisfaction to see 888 take the ethical hi-road. It appears to be going in that direction currently. However, 888 has openned a pandora’s box, BH beasts have been created that are going to be challenge to stop.
The issues are far from being settled. But this does not blind me from the fact 888 is willing to work hard to fix the current situation. greek39
July 27, 2006 at 3:14 pm #700111AnonymousInactiveIf 888 have to employ 10000 extra staff to sort the problem, that is their own bad. Tough.
Maybe what should happen is 888 inform ecogra what they want done?
The Ecogra can get PWC “experts” to do the work, and 888 pay the bill. That’s the MO 888 have funded ecogra to implement upon Fortune Junction, AFTER the offending material was removed. 888 are nowhere near removing their or their friends rubbish. I have seen nothing about OCR finding comment spam pointing at a site allegedy run by Cassava anyhoo.
Either way, I am sure Dom & Greek etc have work to do, aside volunteering help to a multi billion dollar firm, who allegedly want to clean up their act.
# partypooper joey.. :Partier:August 1, 2006 at 12:18 am #700593AnonymousInactiveCouldn’t agree more, we all have more important work to do. After careful review not much has been done despite our efforts. Closing down affiliate accounts is one thing, 888 should try closing down the person doing the deeds. I would suggest also reviewing your affiliate terms and conditons.
To expect us to constantly police 888 and their affiliates is absurd. I have my information to rougue/blacklist 888 and will stay that way. If 888 feels they would like to challenge my findings in so be it.
Call of the blood hounds 888 I am certain you know who they are. I will provide two to investigate its your good reputation that you wish to desperately uphold.
In regards to Urls being scraped those go to Google, Yahoo, and MSN for security reasons. See ya in 30 days. greek39^*

2–go.comAugust 6, 2006 at 12:39 am #701161AnonymousInactiveThis firm need to act for themselves. This attempt to flush the serps is woeful.
Lock down & shut down.
Lock down new aff applicants for approval. Monitor the new traffic “source” from the start, not just Shut down affs who send a player that just so happens to be a chargebacker.
Lock down where all previous aff account holders traffic sources are coming from and Shut down the nefarious folk.
A serious firm would consider drastic action, if they were serious. I still want to know about spyware/adware advertising. I don’t want them spamming the blog. I don’t want their adverts via Whenu or eXact etc popping up on my sons computer, because he downloaded a smilie.
# I don’t want this firm funding “the players seal – ecogra”, thereby gaining positive notieriety for “giving the industry a present”.
# Webscaz removing the 888 rogue page removed 1 source where the proof is posted that 888 (staff?) were blog spamming. It remains linked to, for I am sure this firm will let him down & take advantage of the good nature afforded.
August 9, 2006 at 3:52 pm #701558AnonymousInactiveThe 888 linked pages network needs to be taken to the next level. 888 has unbelievably managed to decertify themselves again!
August 9, 2006 at 4:18 pm #701562AnonymousInactiveI would be willing to go out on a limb and create multiple blogs with my opinions on:
888.com and SPAM
CasinoPays and SPAM
Casino Partners and SPAM
I would also be fully willing to give out free links on all blogs.
August 9, 2006 at 7:23 pm #701596AnonymousInactiveI am about to blacklist Casinopays.
It is only a matter of finding the time to get it done and up there.
I will be giving free links to like pages again.
August 9, 2006 at 7:35 pm #701599AnonymousInactiveGreat count me in. Have to find the time to get started as well, though.
it´s time for some  and :banger: and :shooter: and lastly some :Pisser:
August 11, 2006 at 2:07 pm #701795AnonymousInactiveThis is interesting topic about creating doorway pages or misleading neophytes.
Courtesy of BBC News
“Search giant Google has “blacklisted” German car manufacturer BMW for breaching its guidelines. Investigations by Google found that BMW’s German website influenced search results to ensure top ranking when users searched for “used car”. Google has now reduced BMW’s page rank to zero, ensuring the company no longer appears at the top. BMW admitted using so-called “doorway pages” to boost search rankings, but denied any attempt to mislead users”
google is mopping up, follow the guidelines or get booted. Perhaps this is the message I have been trying to get accross. greek39
August 11, 2006 at 10:48 pm #701842AnonymousInactiveGreek, you seem to be in touch with current events most of the time but this BMW story is sooooooooooooooo old:hehe:
Dodgy as well. They offended once and got the boot. The likes of 888 have thousands of offenders and there hasn´t been a meaningful punishment as of yet.
August 12, 2006 at 2:24 am #701853AnonymousInactiveGoldfinger perhaps you are right, and old story indeed. However, for me this problem is burnt into my mind. I see it, think it, believe it everyday when I start probing. I see honest people doing honest work being destroyed by dishonest people and ask why? can I possibly make a difference?.
There is no fame, glory, financial gain I seek, in fact gloating is against my life standards. I find no solice in being the one who did this or that, it don’t matter to me. What does matter is knowing possibly I made a difference. If I happen to make a difference you won’t hear it coming from me.
This is more than an “old story” my friend. To give up and walk away from this issue would be a blunder of blunders. “there hasn’t a been meaningful punishment as of yet” I agree, perhaps only a dent. I see people giving up on this isssue, perhaps this would be the anticipated response 888 would like?
Eventually this situation will get resolved in a meaningful way. If you do not believe something “meaningful” can be done, then tear down the rogue pages and move on. Many have already done so, I personally don’t give up.

August 12, 2006 at 2:20 pm #701878AnonymousInactiveI´ll keep these rogue pages up until they start to rot or 888 changes its ways. Perseverance is the key. Keep the good work up.
August 12, 2006 at 2:52 pm #701881AnonymousInactiveGoldfinger,
I applaud your candor and your dedication of a page to this, but realistically and practically, does this really accomplish anything other than a place to vent ?
The casinos are useless in regard to allocating resources to deter such behavior. The support of this is erratic and promissary at best.
The root of the problem are the search engines themselves, and until they actually do anything about it, the problem is only going to get worse. The cheats chase the money, and they have found a luicrative area. I don’t believe the search engines are looking at the big picture at all, and this problem will only get worse before it gets better.
August 12, 2006 at 4:11 pm #701888AnonymousInactiveWell, the search engine provide the playing field for this BS. However, I believe that the problem is exacerbated by a few programs who are prepared to turn a blind eye to illicit activities and prefer to profit from them rather than building long term relationships.
Getting the spam onto the SERPS and generating big traffic is one thing. Being able to monetize this traffic with the help of unethical affiliate programs makes this a winning proposition for spammers (let´s have a little blackhat SEO contest, shall we?). I can´t reform Google but I sure can put a bit of pressure on the programs that think they can continuously outsmart honest affiliates.
