Hey Mate, hit me up on Skype – I can give you all the tweaks, plugins, skins you need to keep you happy.

Will show you some gambling sites, or sites built on wordpress that don’t look like a blog.. but a website.

Top, no time wasting plugins for me, which have benefit for experience, ease of use, and SEO are

At the very least.. these plugins as default for any wordpress setup.

Contact Form 7 – best and easy to use contact form

Web Ninja Google Analytics – Enable Google Analytics on all of your pages instantly and add Google Analytics Stats to your Admin Dashboard and Posts. Can track external links, mailto links, and download links on your site.

WP-Table Reloaded
– This plugin allows you to create and easily manage tables in the admin-area of WordPress. A comfortable backend allows an easy manipulation of table data. You can then include the tables into your posts, on your pages or in text widgets by using a shortcode or a template tag function. Tables can be imported and exported from/to CSV, XML and HTML.

SEO Ultimate (most people use the plugin “All in One SEO Pack”) – This all-in-one SEO plugin gives you control over title tags, noindex/nofollow, meta tags, rich snippets, slugs, canonical tags, autolinks, 404 errors, rich snippets, and more.

Google XML Sitemaps – This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask.com to better index your blog. With such a sitemap, it’s much easier for the crawlers to see the complete structure of your site and retrieve it more efficiently. The plugin supports all kinds of WordPress generated pages as well as custom URLs. Additionally it notifies all major search engines

Other things you should mess around with in WordPress
In the WordPress Admin
click Settings -> Permalinks ->
mess around with the custom structure, so you have nice looking URLS.

Ill second Rak’s picks, but also Id recommend “secure wordpress” plugin that doesnt need much explanation, and “pretty link light” which is nice for if you dont want to be going into htaccess everytime you want to cloak a link.

Rak, you have some solid plugins listed here. Another that I would add is Yoast- awesome SEO plugin & it’s Free!

Here are a few of my favs:

-Yoast SEO. By far my favorite plugin for SEO
-Google News Sitemap. Automatically submits all of your content to google to be indexed in google news
-Email Notify. Allows you to collect e-mail addresses from comments, and also allows users to subscribe to future comments so they are notified if they get a reply to their comment
-Sharebar. Excellent plugin to place your social media buttons in the best place
-WP Page Navi. Allows you to have more control over your pagination, rather than just having older entries. Helps google to crawl your older pages of content more easily.
-Akismet. Necessary to block out comments!
-Better WordPress Minify. Helps you to minify your CSS and JS files for a faster site load time.

Hey bud, tell me more about Yoast, whats the big deal about it? From memory I think they were the first big wordpress plugin from memory.
I could read about Yoast… but.. want a marketeers perspective..

If you’ve got a new site and get nothing but spam (even with akismet),

I suggest “mscs redirect after comment” – It sends the spammer to whatever url you want after they have ‘commented’.

Lots of fun possibilties!!!!

Do any of you know if there’s a plugin that would show your Google webmaster tools info on your sites dashboard? that would be really useful.

Belgamo, Are you going to Vegas on the weekend of the 24th for the meetup? I planned on going but as usual something came up.

Good recommendations.

I also use the ones you mentioned depending upon the type of site it is
All in one SEO pack
WP Super Cache
SEO SMART LINKS (good for sites feeding into a money site)
