I use to love using my MSN and Skype until recently when I really needed to focus on what I was doing uninterrupted, but now I hate seeing that orange menu flashing! :roflmao:

I’m at the point where I stay offline in order to get work done, but that is not a good option for me at all so I’m going to create a NEW id and only give it to a few folks or figure something out.

My question is how many of you have the save issue and use more than one chat ID for this reason?

What drives me crazy is the horrible sound of msn ! I use 2 different id: one personal for the family and friends and the other one for work.
And I agree with you for the orange flashing menu, sometimes I whish I had four hands and two brains to answer the right thing tothe right person. (sometimes I mix my chats!)

you should turn the sounds off in the “options” section. i only have sound enabled for nudges, which sometimes scares the crap out of me when speakers are turned on :roflmao:

I tend to just have the one, I do have other accounts but they are pretty much dormant.

Sometimes MSN can be tough when you have 8+ MSN’s on at the same time, which happens a lot! The old chat attack can get too much sometimes so you gotta deal with the questions as they come in and just let people know that you have others on and to hang with me while I sort through them.

All my MSN contacts are pretty much work related anyways.

Msn to me is a complete pain, the minute I log on I get someone who wants to chat or ask questions, this is great when I am not busy but mostly I tend to appear offline, It also can be annoying when instant messaging doesnt do what it says it should IE Instantly message, I have received messages sent the day earlier due to chat lag and messages I have sent have succumbed to the same issues. Purely as a business standpoint, I use Skype and only add work related contacts, so far I have had no problems with this so I am happy to use it… If you would like to add me my id is… HAHAHA Just kidding

It’s Simple – If I want to work uninterrupted I sign out or ‘appear offline’ to focus on things and when I can talk and concentrate on MSN – I sign in again! That way it doesn’t drive me crazy.

I usually have 2 accounts so I keep work and Private separate.

I think my biggest grip is when someone sais “are you there?” BUT never follow up with that they want. That will determine if I want to reply at that time or later. Maybe I’ll place that in my status. :roflmao:

Oopsie.. I did that to you yesterday!
I’m so sorry.. next time I’ll make sure I tell you why I want your attention

I have this patch put on my msn. It allows a lot of things, and apart from the usual msn stuff, it allows polygamy, so I can have as many msn instances as I want opened on my computer at once.. It also allows me to get rid of all the stupid advertising msn does as well as make the screen not move when someone nudges. It also allows me to send as many nudges as possible by continually clicking the button without it delaying them like the regular msn does – heheheh i like to be annoying sometimes

Also tells me if people are idle or have just set their status to away.. i find this handy for when you want to know if someone is actually at their computer because obviously if they are idle they aren’t there.. but sometimes people just set themselves as away because they want people to think they are not there <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

Lost more features too…

I know, I know, I am an endangered species.

I do not use instant messaging and I do not intend to use it. If you want to contact me, send me a letter, I am busy (but I have email ).
