Ear plugs for me! People just walk away after they realise I’m not going to answer. I’m getting visits less and less frequently every day
This would have to be the worst thing about being in the office… I used to have a guy who I told if I have headphones in, it means I’m coding, so don’t disturb me coz once disturbed I can’t get back into it.. So he would come over and try both ears, knowing I had headphones in, then when I would ignore him he would flap his hands in front of my face until I acknowledged him… This drove me mad… and most of the time it was to tell me some random fact about how humans originated from the apes or something like that.
I would prefer to work from home. In my last job I did a lot of work from home and I found that I got so much more done because my family knows that if I’m in my room with the door closed I’m busy, and if they still knock, and hear me growl, they know to stay away.
Edit: Would also make the 3-4 hour travelling time per day a lot less exhausting

InactiveHubby and myself have an office at home that we work from, but also have a “real” office that our guys work from. We pop in once a week for a meeting and to catchup on what they are all doing, but luckily with technology these days – we manage them via email so its not necessary to go into the office.
We have just recently bought the house next door which we will convert into offices, so it will make our life easier and can pop in a lot more often. Its also a nicer working environment for the guys as there is a swimming pool there so we will have our meetings at the pool instead of a stuffy boardroom
