Metallica when I was a teenager. I have never been to such a crazy concert but it definitely stuck in my head. This was old Metallica about 15 years ago.

    somebody mentioned fleetwood mac.

man I bet you’ll enjoy that. They were outstanding when I saw them, place was sold out and I remember it was a time of year when few people had any smoke but I did being a country boy and all .. and I remember trading joints for kisses from hot girls with their boyfriends standing behind them encourging them on lol.

but anyway fleetwood mac really went the extra mile and I’ve seen a ton of concerts. Most all the names (the old ones that were mentioned here .. I have seen at least once)

had people around me smoking dope

there was a time when if we were talking about a concert .. if it came up … the wording would have been

had people around me THAT WERE NOT smoking dope

as that would have been the out of ordinary

    btw: any deadheads?

Man they were great and after my first time seeing them I totally understood why so many followed them around from city to city.

I didn’t know what to expect. But did expect something that made alice cooper’s act look tame. (judging by all the people who attend the concerts and the way they dress)

it was like a garage band. looked like they’d just got home from a night at the local pub. The people were what really made it over the top. They were so organized. as soon as the lights went down all the chairs on the floor are gathered and made into giant piles to make room for dancing.

It was surreal and the next time we saw them I made sure to get seats that were NOT on the floor because as it turns out …. that’s the dance floor and the front row starts where the seats can’t be picked up and piled. :)

Oh ya, and i saw styx at a bar here in KC where you paid one price all drink and band. This was just right before they broke out big. Journey also played the same bar and Uriah Heap (not sure that’s spelled right). I didn’t make the Journey (pun intended).

I do like them. just didn’t make it. saw them years later.

I saw the who either shortly before or after keth moon’s death … I frankly can’t remember and when it dawned on me years later … all I could think of was that it was a fancy set of drums with a deal that came over the top of the drummer that had symbols hanging off them … I always wonder if that was Moon’s set up or the next guy.

    * I wasn’t really THAT into the music to know each person’s name but I seldom missed the op to be where the booze flowed, smoke was in the air and girls were taking their panties off and throwing them.

That’s a good time in my book :)

    Hmm… this would be a close tie….

One was SummerDaze, about 6 years ago: With Black Eyed Peas, Jamaroquai and Groove Armada performing…

But it’s only second to Michael Jackson’s History tour…. whatever happened to him.

Rihanna was great and the tickets wasn’t that expensive.
I’d like to go to AC DC but not for their rediculous prices.

best concert i’ve been too was Jamiroquai in Budapest. it was a small arena of only a few thousand people so it almost felt private.

i’m also a fan and it was very entertaining and nostalgic at the same time. i think i’m getting old…bwah, never!

Not as old as some of the people in this thread judging by responses. I’m waiting for someone to say “Al Jolson at The Ritz Piano Bar…” next :D

Not a concert but … still a live event experience
