I think it is time to do a team rogue link up on this scummy place!
July 18, 2008 at 2:37 pm #773122AnonymousInactiveAgreed.
Build blacklist pages, post on forums, send emails to your mailing lists, link to the AGD alert, and link to J. Todd’s excellent video. Or embed his video on your website or blog.
888 can’t be allowed to get away with this sort of thievery. If they get away with it, other programs may follow suit. How would you like your commission rate decreased to 10%, 5%, 2%, or whatever the hell they feel like? Not just on “new” players, but on all of the old players you referred in the past? It is very worrisome — but this is exactly what 888 intends to do. It’s complete bullshit.
888 has been engaging in unethical practices for years, so this latest trick isn’t really that surprising. But still — surprising or not — it isn’t acceptable. We have to do something about it. Perhaps a class action lawsuit is in order (in addition to the blacklist campaign).

If webmasters want, I could cut out the 888.com part of the video this weekend and upload it as a “stand-alone” to our other You Tube account.
That way viewers could get the information in about 2 minutes.
Just lemme know…

I truly hope that — if 888 eventually sees this thread or the video — they finally realize that this issue is not going away, and it’s in their best interest to communicate with us before they damage their reputation further.

That would be awesome. I have several places where I could embed the video. :hattip:
July 18, 2008 at 9:18 pm #773161AnonymousInactiveI am quite sure 888 sees every word of this. I don’t think they care, they are doing huge land based campaigns in Europe and are not focussed on affs.
July 19, 2008 at 9:26 am #773181gretadasMemberI had the 888 banner in the most prominent position on my site, and the affiliate account recorded 4 visits! in 5 months, when i asked them about this they admitted that all visits were not recorded.
They took a week or more to reply to emails, and only let me choose 25% revenue share even though i wanted CPA at the time. Basically dealing with these people is like pulling teeth.
Couldn’t wait to get rid of them frankly. This latest scheme…..or scam is no surprise!:flush:

It was a surprise to me. I felt they were trying to remove all spam – I hadn’t seen any in a VERY long time. I didn’t know that removal of spammers was only a precursor to stealing from their longtime affiliates
I certainly hope 888.com finally explains it themselves as to what their thought process is.

The APCW tries to publicly report facts and avoid speculation. We have always said that it’s not our business to tell webmasters how to run their business… and we stick by that.
To that end, however, 888.com has the choice of addressing this issue at CAP, at AGD and with APCW… or, they can allow us to continue to report the facts as we see them… and we will.
Speaking for the APCW, it was not our intention to cover this story for one week and let it die. We want a resolution. And until we get one, it’s our intention to use all means at our disposal to keep this unethical practice in front of webmasters and players on blogs, message boards, videos and audio podcasts, email blasts, and press releases.
No one in this industry is above answering to their partners and customers for this sort of thing. I hope 888 realizes this soon, because the longer they remain silent the worse they will look.
July 20, 2008 at 11:18 pm #773262AnonymousInactiveSo do you have a short version with just the 888 content?

.July 21, 2008 at 10:56 am #773286bluffandwinMemberHi everyone,
Apologies for the late reply but I was on vacation last week, who would’ve guessed that so much would happen in a week. Here is our official reply to the commission structure change, I am sure that many of you will have questions regarding this so please ask all the questions that you have and I will do my best to answer them promptly for you.
888.com has recently modified its commission structure for affiliates in order to better communicate interests, expectations and potential benefits vis-à-vis all of its affiliate partners.
We would like to stress the following points regarding this modification and the new commission structure:
• 888.com honors all of its agreements, and will continue to do so. Existing affiliates have not been, are not, and will not be affected in any way by the new structure.
• 888.com is fully committed to transparency. We will review our published materials to make sure every aspect of our affiliate policy is clear.
• 888.com promotes strong business relationships. The new tiered commission structure makes it easier for active affiliates to reach higher rev share brackets.
• 888.com stands by its policies. We firmly believe that this change serves the interests of cooperation with affiliates that choose to partner with 888.com.
• 888.com is committed to addressing its partners concerns. We are here to answer any questions and respond to any comments. The 888.com Affiliate Team
