InactiveROTFLMAOOOO Yep, but it was my Mom who felt that way about me and my six syblings doing the same thing! :roflmao:
I saw that you cook Professor! WTG for you! I’m sure mrs. Professor loves that! LOL
I can’t cook, but my two sisters do so I bought and they cooked Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Now that I have this big kitchen I’m going to give Christmas dinner a try this year! I have my menu planned already and I’m going to go all out and do a pound cake and cut out cookies. I hope it all goes well. :shots: hehe

InactiveMy favorite thing about the Thanksgiving season is having the extra turkey on hand to make homemade turkey tetrazinni.

InactiveThanksgiving leftovers are scrumptious and we love them here.
I loved them as kid too, mom served them up 1000 different ways.
I enjoy cooking, it’s one of those activities that relax me, like gardening does too.

InactiveI’m making my turkey sandwiches today. I like to add miracle whip (no substitutes), boiled eggs a little diced onion and have it for lunch the next two days.

InactiveI like mayo (no miracle whip), turkey and lots of lettuce and tomato. G likes miracle whip, turkey and this year he has been adding – sliced olives. Yuck!

vladcizsolMemberMiracle Whip or Mayo is fine with me though I lean towards Miracle Whip. Also need stuffing, and Cranberry sauce please. White bread is best, but wheat will do in a pinch.

Only homemade soul food dressing will do for me. My mom and sister make the best dressing. And don’t think of putting it in the turkey to cook, it must be in a pan by its self. :sarcasm:
BTW Turkey sandwiches goes on toast. :wink-wink

vladcizsolMemberWe have plenty of that too. But Collards just dont work on a sandwich. They have to be in a bowl with the pot liquor and a nice dowsing of Louisiana Hot Sauce. Also I like mine made with ham hocks, My wife insists on smoked neck bones.

InactiveLol, what is this, the gluttony forum?
Ok, explain the chitterlings and how they are fixed.

vladcizsolMemberI love almost all Soul Food, but Chitterlings make me shudder. Especially when they are being cooked. I will Gamtrak explain them.

akcov68MemberYou guys made me homesick! Missed Thanksgiving at home this year… but I’m surprised nobody mentioned my favorite holiday food! Green bean casserole.
But, I’ll be in the US for Christmas, so I’m only t-minus 24 days from the next chance for those green beans and onions.
