turbooddsMemberHey there,
Nice site but I would suggest better “call to actions” and more of them too. In the first of your post the color is light and hard to read. Then you have the “here” linked only. Its not clear what the traffic is to do. My take on this is as follows,
1. Change the font color darker so people can read it.
2. Use better calls to actions – ie ” Make your bet now” “Bet Now” ” Visit (the site) now” ect..
3. Use a colored button (green or orange) and put the call to action in it.
4. Place different calls to action within the post. Maybe beginning, middle, end. That may help

chazMemberHi,
Thanks for the suggestions. How powerful r those “call to actions”? I mean if someone isn’t willing to open an account will such words “convince” him/her to do so?
Anyways I will try your suggestions and see what the stats read.

turbooddsMemberWell the way it is now you have only the word “here” linked to aff links. Plus the lettering is so light its hard to read.
It can only help – its all about testing testing testing… Gotta try all kinds of stuff until something works.
There is no magical system – trial and error. I know for me doing calls to actions helped 1000%
October 3, 2010 at 12:45 pm #812555
chazMemberYeah I understand the concept of trial and error. What works for someone might not work for u and vice versa. Well I will play with some changes and see how it goes. Thanks

turbooddsMemberYeah – what i found helps is looking at myself sometimes. Does it excite me!! Would I sign up reading my own page if it was on other sites and you will be surprised I change things 20-30 times.. LOL – Until I feel a little spark!

chazMemberPlayed a bit with colors placements button, and I’ve changed enough to get up the CTR with 5%, yet I get few to no sign ups. I am starting to think I attract the wrong kind of traffic or something.
October 9, 2010 at 1:05 am #812702
turbooddsMemberWell it has been only 5 days
– I usually give something 30-60 days at least in order to tell if it doesn’t work. But i would still add more call to actions… Better more attractive ones. In button format… Just me anyways.. maybe its different for sports betting sites. I have no experience with those yet – but will soon enough.. I know a few sports guys and their sites have tons and tons of call to actions all different wording and colors ect… ALSO what does Switch mean?October 9, 2010 at 2:05 am #812705
chazMember“To go over to” as in if you already have got a bookmaker to change it. So should I stuff the whole site with banners, buttons and more links? I always felt that will drive away the visitors. I try to place call to actions on natural places and by natural I mean when I post odds etc. Wont placing them in 4-5 places be out of line?
October 9, 2010 at 6:16 am #812707
turbooddsMemberWell what about the people who do not already have a book to bet with? The word switch may make them feel its not appropriate to them right? Thus alienating a particular target of new people who have never used a book. In terms of “Stuffing” No i would not stuff it so it looks crowded. But seriously and in all honesty – there is no clear direction i can see what to do here. Also you use a ton of space on the left to advertise Euro 2012 and were still in 2010. That space could be utilized much better. And the top of the fold – your space there could also be used better i think to promote certain brands. Better graphics as well….
Let me show you an example of what would make me want to click and make bets… These two sites I know the guys who own them and they spend everyday on their sites testing different things…. look how many calls to actions they have… I can for sure say they get tons of sign ups…
Sports Betting, News, Online Betting & Sportsbook Reviews – SportsUntapped.com
Sports Betting Tips – Sports Betting Picks and Oddsto me these sites are A+++ in the area of utilizing calls to actions.
I am no expert in the sports book area but from a totally fresh perspective think of what you would do if presented your site and one of their sites? They have a clear direction to get people reading and signing up fast!
Look at this page – he has many good calls to action in the posts….
MSU Michigan Spread Line and Prediction CFB Week 6
Anyways it does not hurt to try anything and everything at this point. If your starting from ZERO you cant lose right? Anything you try that fails will benefit you in knowing that doesn’t work. I just think you need to give it time and also link build!
October 9, 2010 at 8:50 am #812709
chazMemberI actually spent the first 6 months mostly link building, buying links exchanging links etc, at this point there are about 178k, not too worried about that. I will look up the sites you gave me, see if I like something.
I am also no advertising Euro 2012. Those are previews of the games that I had reviewed for yesterday. The site after all is a blog with football analysis for upcoming games.
Thanks for your help.

turbooddsMemberKeep us posted on how things go!! I hope you get the success your looking for!!
October 9, 2010 at 10:48 pm #812711
chazMemberYeah, I will give it a time spawn of like u said, at least 30 days, one of my mistakes is I guess I change things too often. Greatly appreciate your input
November 4, 2010 at 11:22 pm #813145
chazMemberWell I swapped few things around, I added an additional 2 links, and changed a bit the general banners around.
Anyways the point is, I got the visitors’ attention I even got a boost of 105% in new registrations ( ha ha , 10 for the last month) but I guess that’s not really enough to be called success.
This I think was phase #1 of the whole thing, seeing which spots work and what colors, text etc. Now I think i gotta take it to phase #2 which would be finding the optimal advertising banners etc.
Meanwhile my traffic increased a bit, I am working with a margin from 150-280 per day. Can that be a possible problem for low revenue as well?
November 5, 2010 at 2:14 am #813149
turbooddsMemberThats awesome. So far so good!!! Some good results…
I would go one step further and add even more calls to action! Different ones – maybe a botton one.
Maybe add a bottom banner…
Anyways so far so good! Well done
November 5, 2010 at 8:41 am #813153
chazMemberQuestion, I usually visit a localized competition site and they have added so many banners the whole thing freezes on me. I am guessing most of their visitors have good pcs and the flash doesn’t slow their expirience but it does it for me.
Should I be aware of that?
