Are you saying that you would walk away from 3K per month?Im absolutely not saying that I would walk away. I think I mentioned a post back that Im not suggesting he write them off.
Would you have rather had me post something encouraging him to bend over and take it from them? You have been in this affiliate game longer than me, so perhaps there is something Im not considering.. but I think letting these guys dictate retroactive predatory terms and not fighting tooth and nail only gives them a license to do it to everyone else. Whats the worst that can happen, they keep him on the wager model? He is already there….
By the way gooner, how has pinnacle been working for you?
Just curious…

Inactivewhat a bunch of wankers. perhaps this kind of behavior is a sign that things are not going well @ pinnacle. their genius masterplan will show its effects in 6-12 months.
i’m removing any mention of them from all our sites :Pisser:

drRobertHMemberI have to bringt this up again. It’s some kind of the worst joke I ever saw. We are a good example how this works…..
Our account was never highly active, but we always had a nice player base. After a bad month, account was totally red, but we were recovering from this when this email arrived. After few emails from me where I tried to explain that we will never get back in to positive numbers with this garbage hot/cold, they ignored this.
Great example now in this month. With old structure we would earn something about 5000 dollars! with hot/cold it will be 118 bucks………….this is just a bad joke!

drRobertHMemberOK, this is over for me now…..I really tried to communicate with them, but it seems that Davvid is gone and the new crew is same kind of joke like the new T&C are. The only funny thing about this, that there is a team that is working on UNIBET AND PINNACLE affiliate support, so don’t be suprised if they don’t give a f… about your stuff

I explained them, that changing of their T%Cs are not fair, that it hurts some ethical principals of working, but the only answer I got was something about “hey, good arguments, but we have the right to change it because it is our business, BUT just promote more, so you can reach the new numbers”. And they also tried to tell ma big affiliates love the new commisson
sure
PinnacleSports, the biggest surprise for me for years= blacklist

drRobertHMemberOOOOOOOps, I forgott the greatest part of this scam

Revenue is down to this hot/cold joke, but they of course still share banking fees FULLY! so what does this mean. it is not that we should get 118$ instead of over 5000$. They calculate also 130$ of banking costs to our account (so here is 30% still constant), so at the end we have some negative earning for a month that should be great with over 5000$ of earning.
Hell yeah, this is what can happen to one of best companies when they get hungry for money!March 12, 2010 at 12:52 pm #808971
drRobertHMemberBTW………….they of course didn’t put down the banking fee calculation……so the result is that instead of getting over 5000$, we have negative revenue because for our highroller they calculate 130$ banking fees, but exact 118$ in earnings. this is scam!

InactiveThat’s not acceptable! I understand its hard to leave $3k behind and sure he needs to find a way with them. Anyone can start with a “reliable” program today and in the next two or three years the same program can through out some predatory term, then, so what?
From my personal experience with Bet365 a few years ago, they had the minimum requirements for cash out, and when I asked they said no, even I promoted poker and put some banners around, I left them behind but not hard to do since I had a few hundred to cash out.
I think Affiliate Managers could think better when do they think about such rules. Webmasters promoting niches will never reach the level of traffic that are asking for.
You now, even a small website, with a few visitors a month can land a whale, it happened to me a few times. Or some player which value will be more than 10, 20 or 30 players a month.
I really glad because I never landed a whale at BET365 and I will never will, even if they change their rules I will not promoting them.
So, I think AM should “have a risk” with small affiliates. Nobody knows who will be the next super affiliate tomorrow, or a good affiliate at least.
And good lucky for You with this one. Surely I wish all the best for a good solution for both but I’m not promoting them in my new website for sports in EU.December 15, 2011 at 2:56 pm #820110
jeromykirkerMemberPinnacle is one of the best sportsbooks but one of the worst affiliate programs IMO.
They claim that there are $50 banking fees when someone deposit via bank wire and the affiliates have to pay 30% ($15) furthermore they claim that there are 3%-4% banking fees on the other payment methods and the affiliates also have to pay 30% i.e. 0.9%-1.2% on every customer’s deposit or withdrawal.
Currently I’m on Hot-Cold commission plan and my earnings are always near zero.
I have calculated that if I earn $300 and Pinnacle earn $700, according to Pinnacle there will be $680 banking fees and I will have to pay $204 and Pinnacle will have to pay $476 for banking fees! It’s 68%!
Either their Hot-Cold commission plan isn’t real and is in their favor or their banking fees are not real.
I have contacted many affiliate managers and most of them told me that customer transaction fees don’t affect the commission.December 15, 2011 at 3:03 pm #820111
FelixtheCatMemberCoincidence that you post this today because I had an argument with our Pinnacle Affiliate manager an hour ago about the same thing. Our players have deposited more than 40K in 2011, yet we made US$ 800.
The answer was predictable enough: “You don’t earn commission on deposits”
On top of that they did not disclose the amount of withdrawals made by our players. This is a number that I’d like to have to see if revenue numbers can add up at all.
They are good for players but I am having a real hard time recommending them to affiliates nowadays. Better to stay away if you need the cashflow. If you are already making a fortune, you can keep them to give your users/players a great bookmaker.

richardb582MemberI guess you have to accept that in order for them to maintain the incredibly low margins they work at, they have to cut every expense they have to the bone. And basically, that means “Affiliates”.
The funny thing is, pinnacle has still been my best paying affiliate partner of all time. But that could simply be because it takes more action than any other bookmaker, and players play there more, and longer…
So while their aff program is draconian – it is probably a necessary evil for everything else to work…

We are seriously considering dropping them. Not because of the ridiculous affiliate program but because of the way they carry themselves lately. For the players they are still fantastic, though.

Same for me, not just that some years ago they threw me (as anyone else) in the trash with that “cold” commission paying virtually nothing while my referred players continute to bring them thousands but also further decreasing the commission with these banking fees, average 70% but sometimes reaching even 90% of the commission itself. Example – for 18-25 June my commission is 19 USD and they took back 16 USD as “banking fee” leaving me … 3 USD! Absolutely the all-time worst program in the whole universe, don’t waste your time.

Wow, Nik0… Thank you for sharing your experience… and so sorry for such a negative outcome. Nonetheless, sharing honest & open stories like this is incredibly helpful to the community.
