It is certainly big news around the world. Today wasn’t the best day for downloads or players at the casino today but I knew it had to do with the elections. Surprised not to see too many comments here. I will do my best to avoid saying who I wanted to win but hopefully positive change comes from this. No need to fight over politics but it seems like more people following the US elections in Canada than our own.

Yes the tide is changing we all have hope again, this is the best news and a long wait from 2006!
Hope is here and I believe we will have better times ahead.

I’m so very proud today to see what we, the people of the the United States of America, have done today! The people in Grant Park tonight displayed a picture of the colorful world that we live in.
President Elect Barack Obama gave the best speach that I’ve ever heard in my life. He reached out to those that did not earn his vote and I truly hope that the folks will eventually let go of the pre-conceived notiions of him and judge him by the way he leads our country.
We can no longer be a divided country and Obama is a symbol of that. We all need to move closer to the middle and forget about red state, blue state, right wing and left wing because those days are gone so you may as well come along with us. :hattip:
I can ‘t see a better person that could possible repair the divide in America.
The guy does not leave anyone out when he speaks, the only other person to do that was Bill Clinton but Obama is better at it.
He is amazing when he speaks, he is so humble and intelligent. What a inspiration !!
I can honestly say I cried (er, blubbered) buckets of joyful tears from the moment it was known that Obama had won the necessary electorates to the last wave at Grant Park. There is so much more to this election than simply the good-bye to the destructive Bush years–we’ve proved that America has changed and has the potential for even greater change. I’m just so freaking proud tonight…and incredibly hopeful.

28 years ago i was afraid that reagan would start wars, violate civil rights and move America toward facism. I was wrong, it was George W Bush that did that. Ding Dong The Witch is Dead!
I’m sure my fellow democrats hope that this is the start of a revolution, much like thatcher and reagan started on the right, to repair the excesses of that revolution.
After being up for almost 22 hours I just checked my email and found the following! I never knew that I had a passion for politics until this election and after working with the Barack Obama campaign folks online the past few months I”m so excited to see he has planned next! Maybe I can start campaigning for Online Gambling to be regulated next! LOL :tongue:
Robin —I’m about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.
We just made history.
And I don’t want you to forget how we did it.
You made history every single day during this campaign — every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it’s time for change.
I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.
We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I’ll be in touch soon about what comes next.
But I want to be very clear about one thing…
