Very good point Randy! Still, from experiense ROI is shrinking due to this type of fraud that is increasing.

Of course one needs to test and track like an obessive-compulsive.

But it’s not doing anyone any good when the only way to avoid PTR is to have your listings appear on page two, is it.

Since appearing on page one is an invitation to get defrauded, I mean.

Like I said – know any good lawyers?

That could be the way to get your money back. And/or these guys shut down.

Because getting out of the PPC’s help you personally. But how does it help the next newbie who joins an affiliate program and tries their best?

I hope the conlusion isn’t gonna be “I got mine, so forget them”

But double-checking my findings as far as you want and then calling and/or writing to the FTC and econsumer.gov is probably a good isea. Oh, and contacting the affiliate manager at your casinos. They might be interested too.

Someone should talk about this problem of ppc at the Casino Affiliate Convention – Las Vegas.

well our biggest problem is the damn grey area in which we operate: I’d not be in any hurry to bring up what I’m doing in any court of law.

this sucks bigtime, but like Cappy, I’ve known for some time of the drop in roi from even the better choice places.

    ps

I’m going to go over and join. “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer…”

I’ve already thought of a user name: “Thievingbucketof __justlikeU”

‘K – but don’t blow my cover just yet, will you?

If you just wanna read to see the horror in action, you can do so unregistered.

Oh, and ignore the “Promotion advice” folder.

It’s full of little people buying one ad at a time.

It doesn’t account for people like Monica Gulati who buys approxximately 450 ads a month at each of 43 separate PTR programs.

    Yes. 450 * 43 = 19 350 search ads, each sendt to a minimum of 3,000 people.

And since she buys so many, she gets bulk discounts.

The math is frightening – we’re all in the wrong business.

Oh, and if you don’t want to go to court yourself – do you know any tax lawyers in California?

    Wanna see something truly evil?

    http://earningtogether.com/esp.htm

Not what you’d expect from the front page, I’m sure.

Simply by placing a simple code on your page you can

    1) Control how many searches from each visitor you send each search engine.

    2) Control which search portal your visitor reaches first

(the highest paying one of course)

and the subsequent order they would see each portal

    if they returned often enough.

    Interesting, yes?

    Damn me.

    h_ttp://www.beenpaid.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=4131

(Put a break in it in case the admins over there read page logs and get curious)

Wanna see how bad it is?

That one person says she generates between 350,000 and 500,000 pageviews of her search portals a day.

My brain is shutting down in self-defense

    That’s 10 500 000 to 15 000 000 search ads a month – and that’s just one person.

If you’re stopping by GPF and want to find out how it’s done from an insider’s perspective – ask that one to help you get your search engine accounts set up.

Methinks I just got very curious about how to make money promoting search engines…

Okay, half of me thinks that. My brain is shutting down in self-defence too, but if I can work up enough nerve, I’ll go sign up and send a message and ask if she can help out a clueless newb like me. Tricks of the trade and all that. 15 mil searches a *month*? F*** me.

Why does this scare me? If I manage it, I’ll let you know.

what a shame. It seems the thieves are being shown no honor.

Note: Sites listed below with an * are the only other places you can buy legal licensed copies of CashCrusader Scripts. Any one else selling CashCrusader scripts can legal do so as an affiliate and they will send you to this site to pay.

If the person selling the scripts is not listed here with an * or they are not sending you here to pay then make sure the site they are selling you is licensed by putting the domain name in the search here. If it does not come up in the search please report them by clicking here

that’s really a shame. If it wasn’t something that would hurt us in the end; I’d dedicate one day a week to giving away copies of their “product” just to piss them off.

the PPCs really need to address this because the damn fools may view it now a something that’s only putting money in their pockets; but in fact; its going to cost them their very businesses if its allowed to continue. I mean, when you consider the grand scale already existing, if allowed to continue to grow at such rate as is obvious the current situation, it won’t be much more than a year before all but the most die-hard marketers will have either found new means to sell their product; or have died in the process.

Nobody likes to get screwed, especially in such blatant means. Right now we PPCers are faced with “take the bad with the good or nothing at all” but when roi drops to nearly nothing at all; trust me when I say those that want to survive rather than see their accumulated worth eaten to nothing in search of qualified leads, will stop using ppcs all together.

and its going to effect even the marketers who use the lesser sought keywords eventually because just like I almost don’t bother to bid on keywords like “casino” anymore; it becomes inevitable that as those main keyphrases lose value; that the frauds will begin to branch out seeking higher return on their time.

Soon if not already, fraud clickers will have a keyword list much like we now use; and the really good ones will keep updated as to which ones are the highest paying keywords.

What’s really stupid, yet ironic; is as the ppcs lose value on their service, they will instead of “sucking it up” and making the necessary changes required to stop the fraud; and thus ensure the longevity of the PPC; will for the most of them; opt to allow the fraud to continue because it will be where the majority of their income will come from; but what they will fail to see; (or actually, many will see, but choose to do nothing to change the inevitible) is they are nearly guaranteeing their own demise.

Just like everything else on the net; scam and fraud WILL work for a while; but in the end it will be its own cause of death.

And the quote above is proof. I remember a while back hearing about a PPC script that was created for someone who after getting it; refused to pay. So the creator turned around and made the script available to anyone for free; (to my understanding; that’s where many of the small PPCs come from: and I’d be talking about the ones that are all the same in format; you know which ones I’m talking about) and basically took any chance away from the original buyer from having a product that stood out in the crowd.

Personally I really like the fact that so many were the same, it made it so much easier to go around and get listed; whereas most unique PPC platforms all required literally hours spent trying to figure out how everything worked.

btw, correct me if I’m wrong on that story, but if it isn’t 100% correct, I think there’s at least some truth in it.

This thread is very interesting and we should make it available in other forums and to affiliate managers – it’s time to stop giving money directly to thieves.

I will personally include a line in all my signatures for my emails, with reference to the report. Something like:

Don’t purchase at PPCs! You are ripped off BIG time! See real proof and amazing revelations that on a $100 investment, $90 is stolen from your pocket!
    -> http://www.marketingcynic.com/ppcfraud/
    Ask us for more information!

I encourage others to do the same if they have a minimum of ethics.

    If you go to:

    http://www.copperlady.net/cws1.php

And click on any of the gambling terms on the front page, it won’t cost anybody anything, but it will bring up a list and the bid prices.

It will also bring up a list of ‘related searches’. You’re right – the scumbag SE’s are already using ‘new’ targets to keep the bids high. You can also look at the bid prices on the various related searches without stealing anyone’s budgets.

And I’m gonna steal that sig for my e-mail too, if you don’t mind.

    Thanks.
