InactiveWebmaster7 wrote:That was exactly what I was talking about. I don’t see CAP worried because any member here has a signature with another forum for webmasters too. If those members make quality posts, they aren’t trying to rob any traffic from here. They are giving also! You are right, but CAP is a different type of community, than player’s forum. I can easily imagine that noone would be happy to give away his hard earned visitors (which visitors are equal money in this business).
If a CAP member clicks on your sig. link in this forum in most cases he doesn’t do it because of searching for casinos or poker rooms to spend money. He is curious about your website, wants to know how you built it, etc..
On a player forum there are players who are looking for places to throw their money away, so they are a very different community. The website owner wants to sell something, and he does a lot of work to “warm the visitors up”, and every click counts. I don’t think that Professor wants to sell here at CAP something.
CAP is a forum for affiliates by Professor (who is also an affiliate).
Player forums are for players by an affiliate (who wants to sell them something).
Just my 2 cents.

InactiveAgreed
But webmasters are valuable traffic too. A good affiliate is worth more than a regular player. It’s just a question of rules, and I was asking for forums that WOULD LIKE to have good members, with a simple signature.
And I never said that my signature would be an affiliate link to a casino or to a forum :satisfied
Well, this thread is done… so much confusion… time to move on to another one…January 25, 2006 at 11:16 pm #681915Anonymous
InactiveI dont care if its in your siggy, in the subject line, or ur sign in name.. There are two rules in my forums, one of them is.. “no spam thats my job!”
I’m not sayin don’t do it.. and I’m not sayin I wouldn’t.. but in my forum, it would most likely be a waste of ur time, as your message would fastly be deleted. I have intellingent members, that actually have an interest in the forum, so I dont need to let the competion advertise on the back shelves.
In answer to your actual question, I see it ALOT, so obviously there are some forum owners allowing it. There are even forums with a specific SPAM section, where you are encouraged to advertize. (I have one in one of my forums, that belive it or not NOONE has ever used!)

InactiveI thank you for your time. I will just keep creating content for my own sites. That way I will be developing my own sites, and not someone else’s. If you do it right, content is still king.
I don’t :spam: . Never! You all jumped in the wrong bandwagon. I just asked a simple question: what forums allow signatures. Never said anything about making x or y kind of posts. That wasn’t my idea. Read carefully what I wrote, and not what others wrote. This thread isn’t worth any more time, yours or mine. Thanks again :satisfied !

InactiveLol, I don’t know what’s got you ticked off. Just a bunch of people saying what their specific forum rules are.
I am sure there are as many rules as there are forums.
Casinomeister and WOL allow signatures for good posters, as do I.

InactiveOh, I appreciate honest opinions, and I personally thanked all members that Pm’med me with their forum url. I know that many forums don’t want signatures. That’s why I asked for forums that DO allow it, like you and others via private messaging suggested. I really thank you for that.
What ticked me off was people saying : you can spam in x place, or, spam is wrong, etc. Where did they get the idea that I was about to spam? I hate spam! I hate mail spam and forum unnecessary posts and spam. They just waste my bandwith and clutter my db’s. I wasn’t expecting reading things like that :terms:
Well, let’s just forget this, and back to good topics sigh.gif
Ok???
Ah :shots:

InactiveI know this thread is old, but I was looking for a different topic, and came accross it again.. and wanted to say, that I have rather rethought my decision.. I wouldnt mind siggys so much in the posts, as I belive my forum members for the most part to be fairly loyal.. I’ve talked a good hundred or so of them through the process of downloading their first poker room, registering and sitting at a table
heheBut more importantly, this group, has some of the best people I’ve met online in it.. Here we are, really all competing in the same market.. and yet if you ask for help here, someone WILL help you.. In the whole realm of things, I was wrong, I still wont be allowing any spam.. but if CAP members want the backlink.. I have changed my mind.
I have only changed my mind regarding CAP members though
as for anyone else, I betchya I get it deleted before any other member of the forum see’s it hehehhe.. and I still hold to it being rude without permission ..And who knows, after the pain killers wear off, I just might change my mind again

Have a great day!

InactiveYour more then welcome at the Streak as long as your making quality post, we even have a spot for other affiliates/webmasters to post any good deals they have as long as you are respectful and follow the rules most forum owners are the same way.
I like the sigs here because you can go check out and want to trade links and things like that, I love to see how creative some of my fellow webmasters are too.

InactiveYikes, how did this thread got in the newsletter? It doesn’t even have any useful information…
elgoog, not the same story again, please! I wasted precious hours replying that I never spammed, and never will. My conscience and reputation is worth much more than some miserable dollars. I’m the responsable for one of the well known portals on my country, I’m regularly contacted for consulting on my country’s market, and I have around 150 sites. Even if it wasn’t for my ethics, I would never risk what I build in so much painstaking years. I don’t need to spam in forums. Ever…
I was talking about having a signature with a link to a book, while posting good articles, hence making people wanting to read more what I write, but I will keep them on my sites sigh.gifAh, enough :blahblah: Let me return to work… I still have no signature here. Must add something… maybe non casino related…
February 10, 2006 at 11:12 pm #683181Anonymous
InactiveI would deffinately add your siggy to your casino’s if i was you.. err other way around..
When I do a search for my nickname.. I get CAP and SharpGambler
LOL none of my OWWWWN sites lmao.. but at least I know i’m getting picked up somewhere, so hopefully eventually my sites will hit the search engines.. well they may already be there, SOMEWHERE.. maybe pabe 8349 I only look at page 1

InactiveMaybe later
I’m concentrating in other things now. It’s taking centuries to restructure all my sites. I’m migrating to all this web 2.0 hype. Some of my sites had good ranking on search engines for many years, but they are outdated compared to today’s sites. Time to redesign… -
