Inactivedeuceace.com is another one. What about bigger forums?

InactiveWhat types of posts do you want to make? Is this regarding casino or poker players? What is your goal? Is it to advertise or put a link in or do you want to be more discreet? I know of some good forums for players, but it may not be well taken by the host.

InactiveRight, Most Forum operators would frown on you just making a post on their board and promoting yourself on their sites.
January 22, 2006 at 1:08 pm #681535Anonymous
InactiveAgreed, I hate fellow affiliates coming to my forums and posting simply to promote their signature. I just remove the signature because I don’t really see there being anything for me to gain out of it.

That is not cool at all.I have to agree, whether you are an active participant or not, linking your site in the signature just isn’t fair to the forum in which you are posting. Especially if it is another forum!
I’d delete it from mine.

InactiveI think none of you understood my question. All of you have signatures here, right? I currently don’t even have one.
What I asked was about player forums that allow to have a signature, like you have here, and like most forums allow. I’m also a forum administrator, with more than 2000 members, and I allow signatures. Don’t see where is the big deal, there. I only asked about forums who allow signatures…

InactiveI read again your answers, and didn’t really understood them.
I never said I would put links on my posts promoting my Casinos. That is spamming. I only asked about forums that allow a simple signature, like CAP, and hundreds of other forums. I would make quality posts, and my signature would also show.linking your site in the signature just isn’t fair to the forum in which you are posting
But aren’t you linking in your signature? I was talking about the same thing. I didn’t even said what kind of sites I would have on my signature…
Well, thanks for your time :satisfied

If I am understanding you then you are comparing this forum to a players forum. Here we are interested in each others sites for various reasons and want to see it. At a players forum your sig. would only be for the purpose of advertising yourself on another affiliates site. It is not even slightly similar to having your site sig. here.
What is being said in response to your query is that Forum operators would not take kindly to you having a link or sig. with another site on it without prior approval.January 23, 2006 at 8:53 pm #681631Anonymous
InactiveI welcome people on my Bingo Forum – you can have one site of any description in your sig (except porn or pharmacy).
However you need to be making reasonably regular posts, and they need to be quality posts, not just post agreeing with others. The subjects can be Bingo, Slots or Videopoker as far as gambling goes. Other than that, general women’s chatter is fine too.
You are also welcome to post on my blogs – the ones that allow comments – as long as it’s a quality post. There you end up getting a one way link from Gamesandcasino just for making one decent post – not at all shabby.
However, I do run a tight ship and delete whatever I don’t like. I will only let quality stand.
Damian, I stand guilty of being a highy irregular poster at the OPU. I need to try to get over there more often.

InactiveDom-
I’m going to come post at your forum! I like your “quality is job 1” attitude!

InactiveI don’t know why most people jumped in the spam bandwagon

I was talking about quality posts, not “I agree” and “that’s right” posts. My image is more important than some clickthroughs.
I know that some forums don’t allow any kind of sigs, that’s why I asked about forums that DO allow them.
I was asking for suggestions that you may have, from forum admins that really appreciate the fact that responsable posters could make good quality posts, in return of just having a signature, never advertising in the post itself. I wouldn’t waste my time making things that could abuse any forum rules. I don’t really need that…
Forum sigs aren’t useful just because of direct clickthroughs. They are also useful for seo purposes, because many forums don’t have rel=nofollow activated, and this will help your site being spidered.I’m writing a book that would be nice to advertise in the future. If I could advertise it, and develop my image in some forums, it would be excellent.
As to my community, it isn’t about gambling. It’s computer related, and not in English. And there are members that have signatures to their own computer forums, and I don’t mind it, as long as they make good posts, they are creating good content on my site!! It’s a win-win situation. I don’t mind that they are advertising their site, on my hard created community. I’m not afraid of loosing all visitors or money because of that. In fact they are helping me, by giving me quality posts.
And with this post, I could have created one more article attracting visitors to my site, or develop one more site. I have dozens of empty domains, waiting for content. Hope this is clear now… Sorry for the confusion that this may have caused. :hehe:

InactiveI understand

Quality posts help everyone. I think that there are a ton of webmasters lately who have had to prune their forums of ‘I agree’ type comments. I think there are just as many webmasters having to get rid of blatant spam.
I, unfortunately, do not post in a ton of forums so I can’t help you.. But I know what you mean.

And I asked about forums that would allow this, so I was asking approval.
linking your site in the signature just isn’t fair to the forum in which you are posting. Especially if it is another forum!
Some people work hard to get members. So out of respect other webmasters should not just put a sig up to get other hard working webmaster traffic.
Many of you have links to your portals and forums, advertising it in your signatures, receiving visits from CAP members, thanks to Professor’s and moderators hard work, right? If CAP authorize it, and you use them, how are you saying that it’s wrong? Read carefully what you wrote.
Most forums have a spam section, use it.
I would never use it, because I never spam.
And I don’t know why I got these answers.. Geez…sleepy.gif

There are a lot of spammers out there and a lot of disgruntled webmasters.
You just asked a question that triggered a lot of things in forum owners.
I don’t have a spam section myself, I just allow one signature per quality poster. I am not so worried about losing visitors, and I think a decent poster deserves a decent backlink.
The other side of the story – the day I opened up my blogs for comments I started getting Pharmacy and porn spam for backlinks. I don’t mind people making a one time comment to get a backlink – but it has to be topical and quality. I delete what I don’t like, and if I really don’t like it I block the IP too.
CAP is here for webmasters and as such doesn’t mind at all if you put your sites in your signature. CAP exists to help you grow.
January 24, 2006 at 10:08 pm #681776Anonymous
InactiveThat was exactly what I was talking about. I don’t see CAP worried because any member here has a signature with another forum for webmasters too. If those members make quality posts, they aren’t trying to rob any traffic from here. They are giving also!
As to your blog comments, you have to be careful because there is software specifically made to automatically post comments in blogs with a determined topic. To block them you can just force people to login to comment. Of course you get the manual spammers too… :dajudge:
