As far as I know a statement will be coming up sometime soon. I am very curious about it too.

Latest word is that Party had given rakeback a go, and then just cancelled it in a big meeting. Yet we have to hear these rumours from other affiliates. It’d be nice even if we were told “We will have an announcement on rakeback soon” or whatever.

PartyPoker.com does not permit affiliates to promote rakeback (or any other discount schemes) to players. There are rumours that we are offering / endorsing rake back to affiliates. These are false claims and we are taking action against anyone who claims to have “special deals” with us.

If you are in touch with ‘high-volume’ players seeking incentives, you may let them know that there are multiple special offers for players running on the site right now. Please request your players to log in to their PartyPoker.com accounts and see what offer(s) are available to them. (If they have not received anything yet, they may write to bonuses@partypoker.com).

We now have a team that services the needs of high volume players. Please let us know if you are in touch with any such players and I will be happy to introduce them to this team.

We would love to work with you to get new players and increased revenues on PartyPoker.com.”

Thanks Bev, this announcement was worth waiting for.

A special care team for high volume players is just what the doctor ordered – casinos have done well with this type system for years.

    :woohoo:

    Bev,

Could you please clarify a few things from the above?

PartyPoker.com does not permit affiliates to promote rakeback (or any other discount schemes) to players.

Do you currently bar affiliates from promoting rakeback or from offering rakeback? You never specifically state that Party is categorically banning rakeback of any and all sorts. The reason I ask isn’t to pick nits with your wording, but because some affiliates are quitely offering rakeback on Party as we speak, and the explanation of how they can do so is that they’ve been given the okay from their affiliate managers, as long as they don’t publicly promote rakeback.

There are rumours that we are offering / endorsing rake back to affiliates. These are false claims and we are taking action against anyone who claims to have “special deals” with us.

Again, for the record, are you allowing some affiliates to offer rakeback, as long as they do it quietly? The “special deals” issue is a bit of a red herring. The real issue here is that currently, as we speak, some affiliates are using individual trackers to offer rakeback. They’ve been told by their affiliate managers that as long as they do so quietly, non-publicly, that there’s no problem with them offering rakeback to players.

Just for the record, I completely empathize with the difficult situation you’re in here. It’s not clear what will be most profitable for you, as far as whether to officially endorse rakeback or not. That said, this isn’t an issue you can straddle the fence on for very long. If you want to allow rakeback, then fine, allow rakeback and enable all affiliates to do so. If you want to bar rakeback, then fine, bar rakeback and completely remove the ability for all affiliates to offer it. But the current ambiguous state of affairs isn’t good for anyone, players or affiliates (or even Party Gaming, for that matter, as many affiliates have stopped promoting Party due to the current uncertainty.)

Thanks so much for taking the time to post here, as I know all affiliates appreciate it and I’m sure you’re very busy at the moment. If it makes it any simpler, you could even simply agree to the below statement, assuming this is indeed Party’s position:

“Party Gaming currently prohibits all affiliates from offering any form of rakeback (public or private) for players referred to Party Poker.”

I see Bevess has posted on other topics. Has she missed this one and that is why there is no reply to the recent questions by scurvydog?

The fact that there hasn’t been a response is, in my mind, an answer in and of itself.

I think perhaps she may be discussing it with others at the company to find the answer…

You very well might be right.

I wouldn’t have thought it would take two weeks to decide whether or not to publicly admit that some affiliates were being encouraged and aided in quietly offering rakeback, but I am just a simple monkey that has no clue what goes on at the Party mothership. Who knows…
