Sweet dreams. hehe

vladcizsolMemberIm back, but not a happy camper. It was rough. Both were impacted and they had to break them into pieces and then remove bone to get it all out. I am on Hydrocodone and Ibuprofin 800mg every four hours, but this still hurts and swelling is bad.
I cant talk but at least its done.
My advice to anyone needing dental work DONT PUT IT OFF. Sooner or later you have to get it done and the longer you wait the worse it is. My “excuse” was the teeth didnt hurt so I figured why mess with them until they did. Amazingly stupid thing to do.
I am going to update the news and then I am going to bed.

Oh man, you are the brave one! I would take gas even for cleanings, IF they allowed it. The sound of that drills is enough to make you never want to return.
One of my friends put off dental work and had to eventually have ALL of her teeth removed five years ago and was very upset, but now she love the fact that they will never have another tooth ache or cleanings and joke about how she can eat a peanut without dentures. LMAOOOOOOO

InactiveHey Lou,
I have been putting off having 3 back upper teeth pulled for some time now. Going for regular mantainence is enough. Well, I guess I will get up the courage sometime. Take it easy!June 24, 2008 at 6:50 pm #770978Anonymous
InactiveI have been putting this off too – I am definitely getting the gas when I go!

Inactivebrave? no! Crazy? Yes! everyone hates the dentist but next time – gas all the way!!! can’t believe you got through that on local anaesthetic! have a speedy recovery professor.

wallstreeterwwMemberI had my wisdoms pulled on 2 separate occasions and only had local anaesthetic both times and it killed. My girlfriend went once and they put her under and yanked all 4 at once. She was out of commission for a day or two but I would rather done it her way cause I still have 1 left and it’s impacted..
I feel your pain Prof. Get well..yogurt and soup for a week ya hoo

InactiveAbout 20 years back I had this dentist that was so gentle, he had this great chair that I used to fall asleep in. He’d have to keep waking me up.

InactiveI had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth out at once. I was gassed but it does not knock you our entirely. I can remember feeling the dentists knee on my chest and hearing the breaking of the teeth.
The worst part was my brother picked me up and had to go on a biz conference call, needless to say the call lasted longer than the original pain killer and I was dying by the time he got out and got my perscription filled.
My face was bigger than a basketbal for more than a week. My recommendation is do them all at once, don’t think they would get me back in the chair for that again.

Inactivei feel so lucky. i only had 2 wisdom teeth (you see i’m further evolved than the rest of you! LOL ) and they weren’t very tough, but they doped me up with valium or ketamine or whatever.
I had some bone spurs filed using gas and novicane. It didn’t hurt, but i felt the bone dust falling in my mouth. But the surgery was so successful, the pain after the novicane wore off was way less than before the surgery…it was quite a great feeling.
my advice is that nitrous is much better for a party drug than for dental work.
Hope the recovery goes well professor.

vladcizsolMemberThanks Guys :hattip:
I am healing, but the pain is probably worse the second and third day after the surgery then it was immediately afterward. Thank god for pain meds.
Quote:I can remember feeling the dentists knee on my chest and hearing the breaking of the teeth.Yes, this is surreal isnt it? The sound is unforgetable that’s for sure. While mine was going on I just kept seeing the scene with Dustin Hoffman and Sir Laurence Olivier from the Marathon Man flashing through my head. “Is it safe?”
Arrrrgh! The stuff of nightmares… -
