Well good for you and stupid! Did you not read where I’m ignoring stupid?

Why don’t you start a post for NOT getting the industry regulated so that I don’t have to read it k?

Why are you such a dick?

I think it’s wonderful that Obama is already trying to overcome some of the mess that the outgoing idiot promulgated for eight years – but fail to understand why anyone would voluntarily wish to take on such a screwed-up country. We have so many problems that I wonder how he will know what to deal with first – that 10-yard list of urgent issues.

When he gets through with his office that poor man is going to have aged 40 years.

We all hope that he will eventually get around to us and the UIGEA – but it’s obvious that there are many larger priorities.

I wish him well and think he offers hope for the first time in a long time – just pray it’s not too late for many things – like conservation and pollution – world climate.

If they’ll leave him alone and let him get on with it, IMHO we’ll see much better things ahead. They’re already commenting on white-supremacy groups in the news. Sickos!

Shouldn’t this go down to the political section?

Here, here I second that. BTW Robin I still haven’t heard from your girlie or received
    an email.

I would move it, but I don’t have the rights to do that.

Hi Conrad, I’m sorry about that dude! I’ll get Janet on it right away. I know that she has it on her list. :)

Sounds good Satya, I’m so looking forward to it!

EDIT: Again, I wanted to say that although Obama has his hands full, the MAIN priority is MONEY (remember the USA is broke) and online gambling will bring that to us so IMO NOW is the time to bring it to him and not wait around like some of you would do and find ourselves in the same spot next year this time.

I just got off the phone with the nicest guy! After mentioning UIGEA he know right away why I was calling (as others had called today as well) and told me what to do to voice my concerns.

I then proceeded to tell him that this affected me personally and he transfered me to the voice mail of the comment line for the Board of Governors office where I pleaded my case. That number is 202-974-7008.

He also gave me the following information for anyone that is interested:

Go to http://federalreserve.gov/aboutthefed/default.htm. Scroll down the bottom and click the contact us form and send to them.

The points I was told to make are below sent out by PPA:

The current Administration is hastily finalizing a number of “midnight rules” before they leave office and the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) is on the list. See the 11/06 story in Dow Jones. Just like UIGEA was snuck into legislation in the dark of night in 2006, our opponents are again trying an 11th hour sneak job. We need you to help us expose and stop this reckless rulemaking.

Please call the U.S. Federal Reserve and tell them not to approve the UIGEA regulations — Consumer Complaints, 888-851-1920 or Public Affairs, 202-452-2955.

    Tell them:

    * The federal agencies responsible for our nation’s economy should not be focused on Internet poker regulations.
    * Finalization of the UIGEA rules will add additional burdens on our already crippled financial systems.
    * Internet poker is a game of skill and form of recreation for millions of Americans; it should be exempted from the UIGEA.
    * Please do not finalize the UIGEA regulations until their impact on our banking systems and average Americans has been fully studied.

Robin–I’m so proud of you. The sort of passion you exhibit will be exemplary for any sort of change. I’m happy to help in any way I can.

With this in mind, I would like to make a suggestion…

There is now a new website, http://change.gov

There is a contact page, in which you can relay your concerns for the coming presidency. My suggestion would be to ask that the nonsensical Patriot Act be repealed, along with the UIGEA. These are fear-based acts, which infringe upon our privacy and freedoms and other rights. If you tie the UIGEA in with the Patriot Act, it will point to something greater than just online gambling, which may get a bit more focus.

Obviously, the UIGEA is not going to be top priority, however, if enough people contact the powers-that-will-be (regarding this issue), then it will become visible in the minds of the new administration. With enough participation, we may be able to make ourselves the ‘squeaky wheel.’

    Thank you GG! :) (hugs)

I’ve learned a few tricks from you my friend!

That is an awesome website and I visit it daily! I also have my personal mybarack website that we used during the campaign and has a ton of good stuff on it.

President Elect Obama will govern on the internet as well. He did hundreds of videos during the campaign to keep us informed.

He has a database of 10 million of us at his disposal to pressure Congress to get his bills passed so I’m sure that I can be ‘squeaky’ enough to get somebody to do something! Pelosi and Reid won’t know what hit em once we get on the scene:roflmao:
