GuestHi all,
seriously …. we can agree to disagree and lets not lose one more member to politics or mis-understandings.
I have greatest respect for both parties here who may know whom I am speaking about …
and I have not read all your correspondence but I very truthfully believe that you both are too defensive with the other (and that may be because of something I missed but I beg you both to let whatever that was pass because most times your both pleasant enough)
…. and Gam … I want to work for you. … I think its ever since that remark about the boots and the lipstick but I would deny on my application form that had anything to do with it.

… I really do dig everything I”ve heard or read about O and I totally agree with Ant.
IN fact this the first time I’ve felt upbeat and my usual optimistic self since hearing about MGS … I guess I can survive if O is willing to fix all that W has screwed up …… because its a lot more than most of us probably have a clue.
for instance ….. he’s not done yet .. did you know he did away with all the coal mining restrictions off of mountain tops ?
something like 700 streams just in one state have been ruined forever because of what they have termed “clean coal” …
and I stumbled upon that. it didn’t make first page news that I saw. (maybe it did, i don’t read a lot of news).
but you get my drift. This incredible A-HOLE obviously has no respect for environment (because its too slack as it was before bush did away with things) … no respect for his children and most importantly his grandchildren …….
those kind of people I have little to no respect because if you don’t respect your grandchildren’s right to a planet that isn’t so polluted you need to carry oxygen with you … then you’re a sad SOB (and I had stronger choice of words than SOB but out of respect will not write them here).

Or in Bush’s case the next 7 minutes.

GuestHi again,
here’s a link to that news story
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/27/nothing-conservative-abou_n_138086.html
stated that just during the Bush administration mining in the appalachians has permanently destroyed over 700 natural streams from dumping mining waste such as “removing mountain tops”
both destroying habitat, sports fishing, enjoyment, fish species, as well as polluting the ground water with numerous acids and chemical byproducts of mining.that’s one area. 700 streams. its appalling. Anybody who loves the outdoors … should be appalled.

He has the ability to multi-task as well. You may not realize this, but he also has a staff and the ability to direct people. Frankly, I’m sick of seeing the negative crap about ANYONE and I’m done even replying to it. One monkey don’t stop a show. :roflmao:
I hope that he just use his Executive Order ability and call it a day. It’s NOT that hard folks. Don’t have such a defeated outlook on stuff. I certainly don’t. Thank God for a person like Obama!
BTW bb1, I’d work with you anytime of the day because I know that you are a strong enough man to handle a real woman in “heels and lipstick”!
Edit to add: Not directed at you Shay.

InactiveHow soon do people think something might be done about the unlawful gambling act then? I tend to agree it probably isn’t top priority but if Obama is planning a massive spring or January clean then who knows, I guess it would be fairly easy to repeal as it isn’t really properly in place yet.

I’m not sure, but I’m trying to find out as much as I can.
It’s kind of hard due to the fact that all this political stuff is new to me, but I’m trying to do the leg work to see exactly how to present this idea to the administration. It’s not like we are asking to build a nuclear reactor or something. I just want to let him know that this is affecting our business and there is no reason for the US to not allow online gambling.
ANYONE that have ideas or want to help me please PM me.

NOW IS THE TIME!

InactiveI also wanted to add that it’s PRIORTY to me and it should be to everyone that reads this forum otherwise you may as well look for another line of work.
If I offend anyone then I’m sorry, but being ‘liked’ is not a priority. I’m not the type to throw the first blow, but I won’t take any punches either.

InactiveThanks for the PM’s folks! I really appreciate the help and I’m on it! :hattip:
BTW for anyone intested I just submitted a request via the link below. I”m also trying to figure out how to reach Michelle Obama as she will have causes as the first lady that she fights for so maybe she can help as well. Granted she may not want this one, but it can’t hurt to find out! LOL
What would you like to contact Senator Obama’s office about?
Position on an issue
Help with a government agency
Request a tour
Send an invitationNovember 10, 2008 at 2:09 pm #786227Anonymous
InactiveRobin, you can count on our support if you need any help for championing the cause of fellow industry members. But keep in mind that every new government usually changes some policies of the earlier because of the difference in ideology, their priorities and objectives. If Obama’s list also features the gaming industry issue, we can only hope its position is fairly up and it gets noticed sooner. I hope the big boys of our industry are trying their best to lobby and push this issue. Having said that I also believe that every effort counts and can make a difference, however small it may be.
All the best to you, Robin! I am sure everyone here would chip in.

InactiveI’ll continue to do what I have to do to get what I want and right now It’s to get online gambling regulated
Better becareful what you wish for. Regulation, maybe the affiliate business undueing.
I agree with Stupid, there are much more pressing issues right now. I’m willing to wager even if UGEIA had not been passed. With this economy there would be a slowdown anyway. Vegas is even feeling the pinch and they are usually immune to any economic slowndown in the past. Not this time!

Hi Satya,
It’s good to see you dude! :hattip: You gonna be at CAP London? I never get to spend much time with ya at the conferences, but hope to do so if you are there.
I appreciate the offer and have you down on my list. I know that this won’t be easy and it may not even help or work, but atleast I have the desire to try.

Well good for you and stupid! Did you not read where I’m ignoring stupid?
Why don’t you start a post for NOT getting the industry regulated so that I don’t have to read it k?

Yes, I will be at CAP London. We should catch up. Having worked with you for over 5 years, it has always been a pleasure meeting you.

We all know it is not an easy task. Like someone pointed out there are many more important issues which will take precedence. Obama has promised the heaven to the world. It is a hard task ahead of him, as he has made people dream about a change, a change which every senate promises but fail to deliver. Let’s see how he fares.
I have to say that there is something different about this person and the world feels he is ‘special’ and would make a change. If he can carry the responsibility of presidency, the same way he carried out the election campaign, hopefully we are in for some surprises. All the best to you Mr. President!
