InactiveBoycott Overture the remainder of the month. I am closing my Overture account. My listings will be removed soon and money refunded. Why give them any more money when they are going to remove our sites at the end of April? I say do them now.
I am enjoying a Ice cold Margarita right now thinking how much money Overture/Yahoo is going to loose.April 4, 2004 at 1:55 am #647411Anonymous

All those casinos and sportsbooks that Integrity listed have requested that Overture not accept any ads using their trademarked name. The only one I was aware of that didn’t want me to bid on their name was BoDog.
Fortune certainly has never indicated that we cannot use their casino names for PPC bids. And if they do, they will truly be driving a giant wedge between themselves and several webmasters. Besides, I don’t think “seven sultans” is the trademark… istn’t it with the number 7?
BoDog are a bunch of pansies… they made me sign an agreement for a percent of profit… then FAX it to them in Vancouver… and THEN told me not to bid on their terms….
Poo poo on them…. I turned their listings OFF, then made my BoDog landing page into a Sportsbook review page (without Bodog on it!) then outbid them starting at 9pm every Friday night… going till 1 am that Sunday morning… stole lots of traffic from them week after week…. It was a thing of beauty! :p

GuestAye Aye Captain.
I’ve closed my Overture Account – and it feels good to beat them to the punch.
Speaking of punch…..a margarita sounds good.

InactiveI said it before – Overture stinks. The guys only devoted a very small portion of our advertising budget to it – and it is not like I had to sit there all day and monitor it, that was not my job – but the prices, they are so inflated, and the customer service is just terrible.

InactiveI have spoken out against Overture on many occasions – including the last Vegas conference.
They have the lousiest customer service – you practically cannot do decent business unless you have a person assigned to you permanently.
I am not going to cry about it.
Also at overture (and many other places) the most vicious competitior clicking took place after I got kicked out of the GPWA – I lost a considerable sum of money and while the logs clearly showed foul play I never could get a refund.
Will I cry about overture losing millions? Heck no!
:flamer:
My Mom always said:
What goes around, comes around!
Mom, you’re right on all counts with that one.
