Hey CJ,
Maybe affiliates might be a little spoiled nowadays…….Isn’t technology wonderful. I remember not only having to copy and paste the banner image and then adding it to source coding all ona 286 computer………but then again I used to have to walk to school uphill…..both ways.
I will check out mermaid. I’ll always add to my site if I like it
February 28, 2006 at 8:11 pm #684949AnonymousInactiveLOL, yes I too remember the good ole days. Really put you to the test. It would have been nice if they actually put the banner codes below each banner to help the affiliates out. I’m sure most of you-like me-spend a lot of time on your websites. Anything that can be done to speed up the time it takes to update and install banners so we can promote our affiliate sites is greatly appreciated.
However, Mermaids wasn’t all that bad. I have a few programs that are actually hard and confusing to navigate through. I just played a freeroll there to test the site a little and found there server is a quite slow. They’ll have to address that pretty soon. Had the same problem at another BossMedia site and they had to upgrade their server. Big improvement since.
February 28, 2006 at 8:34 pm #684953AnonymousInactiveAnother thing I remember with my 286 plus dial-up was when I first got i n the affiliate programs, I would be searching other sites looking for more casinos to be affiliated with and porn sites would pop up one after the other.
Being on dial up with a 56k modem, in a matter of a few seconds I had over 20 sites up on my computer. For every browser I closed, 2 more opened.
What a nightmare back then.I also remember almost getting divorced from staying up till 3 in the morning, every day working on my site to get more exposure and more traffic. Now I stay up most of the night playing poker.
February 28, 2006 at 8:35 pm #684954AnonymousInactiveHi CJ
We where actually on the same table today(seating next to each other), just before you went out. I exited not long after..:fencing: The server problem is a bossmedia problem as they host our software(to my knowledge), It doesnt happend often and I hope it stays that way. But when it happends, #”¤”#¤&#
Anyway..the code generator on mermaids site, in my mind is the easyest way to go about it. If we created a code under each banner, you still would need to change the www to your adress and change the Ref code. Using the generator takes under 1 minute…:clapper:
Hope to see you in the $500 freeroll we are holding on friday, registration starts thursday.
Regards
Tommy J
(AyCaramba)Latest Mermaid News: Now 9300 players, 8300 Danish, 1200 rest of the world.
February 28, 2006 at 8:48 pm #684957AnonymousInactiveYou should have said something at the table Tommy, wasn’t paying attention. I didn’t see the $500 freeroll, thanks for letting me know. I’m launching a new poker forum soon VetsPoker Forum. Give it a look over and let me know what you think.

I just saw your name, and thought I know this guy, it only accured to me a few minutes later that is was from this place.
The freeroll is not listed in the software yet, but should be ready for registration on thursday.
I looked at your forum and it looks great. A forum is always a good thing to add to a site, as it gives the visitor a reason to come back.

March 11, 2006 at 3:29 pm #685973AnonymousInactiveWELL – I never!!!
