InactiveIf you want your site to be taken seriously, you gotta have Poker Stars, even if their affiliate program is below average, everyone knows they are the best poker room around

CPA of $75 bucks is the industries worst deal. I have heard of HUGE affiliates getting $100 (again, horrible). I do okay there but how much do I lose in rake each month?
As far as game play goes they have some of the toughest players online (especially ring games). So certainly don’t wanna send my rookies there.
They also are one of the few Poker sites that refuse to help out with added money for freerolls or buyins.
Why do you like them?

From a players point of view they are the best, i only play there for the past while, best money tourny’s, biggest, the $10 million WCOOP is starting soon, and by playing against good players i improve my game, thats the most important thing for me, im not interested in squeezing some newbie for a fin…eventually you will want serious players who will play often, and those players will find their way to the best rooms, Poker Stars, etc
As for the affiliate program, as i said, it is below average, but if you want serious poker players to use your site you have to mention them somewhere or risk losing credibility, if you say Everest Poker is better than Poker Stars on your site, people will think you’re an idiot and ignore anything else you have to say and probably never use your site again

InactiveIf people have their own strong views on a poker room then they’re not going to a review site to find a place to play start with.
They already have their mind made up.

Made a long post and got timed out. Third time on this forum.
I will never agree with your opinion on a horrible $75 commission for the hard work we do. I don’t know many affiliates that like $200 CPA deals. I wouldnt ever pick that option.
I want my newbs playin easy sites to build their BR. Then I get income for life for helping them and not sending them to Stars or UB to get slaughtered. When they are ready they can play anywhere they like. If they decide on Stars I get air. If they pick any other site I pay the bills and get $$ to run tourneys for the next crop of newbs.

First of all, i’m pretty sure i get commission from both Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet, and not CPA
Secondly, a newbie will play at “your high commission” place for a short time before moving on to either explore other options and bonuses, or step up in class to the bigger money tourney’s at places like Poker Stars
So that is why you get higher commission from these places, you are getting 35-50% of freeroll players and nickel & dimers for the most part, who don’t stay long, while at the better rooms you get 20-25% of players who play in big money events and play for a long time, many many years usually
While i agree with the idea that promoting the top rooms like Poker Stars and Party Poker is not in my best interest financially, so i’ve noticed anyway, i can’t just ignore them and pretend they don’t exist, they are largely responsible for the online poker boom which has made a lot of money for a lot of people, so they deserve something for that, i won’t take Poker Stars out of #1 spot even if i get nothing from it, they are the online poker champ

InactiveHey Greek – my 2 favorites that I promote the most and receive money every month is Doyles Room and Hollywood Poker.
Hollywood Poker though is stiff competition. No in between. I make the final table half the time and come nowhere near it the other half. The main lobby chat is really foul as well. Haven’t played there in 2 months maybe they cleaned it up

InactiveNo one gets MGR at Stars. You love to play there, they are in your #1 spot and you don’t know how they pay you.
I’m sorry I got into this thread. Good Luck to you.

How did you manage to get that deal? Stars affiliate agreement as of today still says that they don’t do revenue share just CPA, and when I asked them they said that no-one gets revenue share, and they aren’t considering it at this time.

Lee Jones has mentioned it a few times on 2+2. Check out the affiliate area at 2+2. Nick wasn’t sure how how was paid in an earlier thread then said “I get 20%” to save face. Its an incorrect statement.
This question “RB at Stars” is asked often by rook affiliates at 2+2.

All the biggest RB affiliates post there. None has RB.
