I added on top of the main page of my site some animated text with the marquee tag. The marquee tag is an HTML element that makes text to move from left to right and top down.

I agree 100%. You should also look into using a CMS like wordpress. I know for a newbie it looks complicated but trust me it’s not. It will save you tons of time and headaches in the long run.

I’ll save you lots of headaches by telling you that PR doesn’t = traffic and earnings. I have PR3’s that make 0 and PR2’s that make thousands.

Most of us use Google PR as 1 of many tools to see how our sites are doing. Get your own domain and your own server, you will thank us in the long run.

unfortunately the PR is no crucial factor or success. There is only one important factor for a successful website: Visitors. – and how you monetize them. The only advantage of a PR is when you want to sell your website, for many domain buyers this is important.

There are tons of PR5 websites available with less than 5 visitors a day…. but are they successful? This PR5 websites probably dont break even….

In my experience an Alexa Ranking of ~ 7.000.000 indicates maximum 10 visitors a week. I guess five of them is the website administrator himself. No recorded traffic for this website by Alexa. 0 website reputation. 1 listed search query. 2 Backlinks from meta spider websites. I think you cant call this “successful”.

Regarding the own domain. In fact, everybody can create a website at websitebuilders for free. Experienced web designers build such a website in 15 minutes. Maybe in 10 Minutes. This is why you also wont get many backlinks offers. If somebody wants a backlink from webs.com he builds such a website himself, without the need for a further outgoing link from his “real” website.

Furthermore, with such a website there is no identification with own product you offer. Can you image that google will change from [URL]http:///www.google.com[/URL] to [URL]http:///google.bing..com[/URL] :p

And a further important point is, that you have no control about your website. Imagine you work on this website for three or five years and get 500 visitors a day with good monthly earnings. And then webs.com decide to disallow gambling on their website and close your account…

This is not meant angrily. I would have been pleased, if somebody had helped me to start internet business ~12 years ago.

Buy real hosting and a domain. Not the free stuf. It is normal that a service that is for free can’t offer the quality of a paid service.

As you see good hosting and a good domain are important for serveral things. Multiple people already said you should buy it.
