Emelianenko is arguably one of the best fighters in any weight class period. Pound for pound Silva and GSP are also up there…

It’s hard to say one fighter is better than another since effective counterstyles usually prevail, but if u wanted to talk about all around ability i would have to mention Lyoto Machida, now this guy knows how to fight, any way u want it, 13-0 so far, whatever u come at him with he counters effectively, the sign of a smart fighter, half Brazilian, half Japanese, groomed to fight since birth, look forward to seeing him become champ, nice good looking guy too.

Looking through his record, he was the first man to beat Rich Franklin, who went on to become UFC champ, he beat B.J. Penn when B.J. was UFC champ in a non title fight, and last time out he beat Tito Ortiz, so it’s not like this guy’s been fighting bums, he has been in the ring with some serious quality and beaten them all, sooner or later he’s gonna get his shot, u can’t duck him forever, would like to see him fight Forrest Griffin next time out for the UFC Light Heavyweight title, but that’s not gonna happen, they’re keeping him out of the picture, and he won’t fight Silva for the Middleweight title since they are teammates fighting out of the same gym.

I was just watching the Franklin fight on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuyDlSujlic nice knockout.

I don’t think I ever saw that fight. Was that Pride?

At 13 and 0 you would think he would be next up to fight Griffin. Maybe The Godfather (Dana) doesn’t like him.

I like Slice, he looks mean but hes really a bar room/Street fighter. Nothing more at this point.

Possibly just a glorified Tank Abbott. If he keeps working with Bas he might still pull off some lucky punch wins.

A lot of people aren’t too familiar with him, i can’t remember when he fought Franklin, it was years ago, his last scheduled opponent, also 13-0, just backed out of their fight at the last minute.

He controls the fight from start to finish, always cool and composed, reminds me of a young Royce Gracie when he was immortal back in the day

He really does deserve a title shot more than anyone, he’s already beaten 3 champions, 2 in their prime, i mean what do u have to do, nobody is interested in fighting him, he’s one of those guys when u get in the ring with him u know you’re gonna lose somehow someway, very smart fighter, a trait i value above all others, those types can i beat anyone at anytime, no matter how big they are.

It’s incredible how many “knowledgeable” fight fans don’t acknowledge his abilities, he may never get a shot at the title and he’s already in his 30’s

Great video compilation! His website says he’s on the card for UFC 89 against Thiago Silva but ufc.com doesn’t mention the fight.

The fight was cancelled, Silva backed out, looks like he’s a smart guy too
