compiitMemberWow! That is an amazing idea and I would be the first on board if I could be. It’s amazing how messed up the healthcare system is in the US. I just shake my head when I hear and see the things that go on with the healthcare system.
I think this is a wonderful idea, and I’m certain there would be many supporters of this.May 6, 2008 at 5:54 pm #767339Anonymous
InactiveI would seriously consider this if it was available, and if I needed the insurance.
Right now I get insurance through my fiancee, but if she leaves her job, we would need to find something else. We’ve talked about this many times….
I would not be willing to undergo a physical or anything, though. I would like to just sign up and be 100% covered.
How the plan would handle preexisting medical conditions? Would preexisting conditions be excluded from coverage? For example, if someone has heart issues, or diabetes, or cancer — how is that handled? Would the plan basically say, “sorry, your current heart medication / chemotherapy / whatever isn’t covered — pay for that out of your own pocket,” or would preexisting conditions be covered by the plan?

InactiveExcellent idea and I am all for it, provided I could get coverage. My health insurance was cancelled the 1st of December, thank you ex, and I can not get coverage, major headache. I now spend 2300 a month for my prescriptions alone, so anything below that would be a savings…lol

TerriopidMemberI would be interested as well depending on the cost and terms.
Nice Idea Professor, I’d never even thought of something like that.

vladcizsolMemberFrom a practical standpoint I think it’s ok to ask providers to waive a physical. There may be issue on coverage of pre existing conditions though as this is a clause with most insurance companies carry.
These are good things too add to the list of what we would like to see in the program. Keep the feedback coming.

InactiveYes I would be really interested, as I currently have no health insurance. Please PM and keep me up to date on the status Professor. Thanks…

InactiveThis is one of the best new ideas I’ve read in awhile. Excellent idea and I’d be onboard for sure!

TerriopidMemberIn my area, having blue cross & blue shield is a pretty big plus, how do you feel about them as a provider Professor?

InactiveWhat a awesome idea!! I pay HUGE monthly fees for me and my boys to have coverage and don’t get me started on dental!! I am in 100% if you can get this accomplished and supporting CAP is another plus side to me, without CAP I would not be where I am today. I have a concern with the pre-existing as well if they go back the last 3 yrs I am cool but back 7 yrs back would be a concern to me. I also deal right now with a crazy yearly deductable for each of us if I can get that lowered I would be happy.

vladcizsolMemberJosh they are definitely on the list. We would also look at Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser, Humana and the other large providers.

InactiveI would be in too as i have no insurance at all right now ,

InactiveProfessor – this is exactly the kind of idea that we need – practical and cost saving to give people like us a better chance for success. Hopefully there’ll be a huge list of affilliates that can use this opportunity to their advantage. I’ll be keeping my eye on this project and will throw some more people in your direction if I hear anything. Thanks!

InactiveYou can count me in for sure! I’m not sure if I’m paying a huge amont, but it seems like it to me.

moneyggirlMemberI’m giddy with the notion of health insurance!
The only thing that would turn me off would be if insurance was through Kaiser…wouldn’t do it.
I’d be especially happy if it was a PPO, btw. :3eyes:
Lou–thanks for thinking of this…and doing the hard work on it! :hattip:
