You can set it so that the sites that use your content have to link back to you in order to use it.

I use http://searchwarp.com/ and http://www.contenttycoon.com/ alot I generally submit to about 35 submission sites for each article actually though.
I also try to post a free article here on CAP every now n then, in trade for links from CAP members, and I have a submission service on http://www.webaffiliatecreators.com .. you don’t get as many ppl putting the articles up, but you obviously know some gambling sites minded folks are seeing them

Would be a nice warm welcome, don’t you think?
Cat – I hope you don’t take my post personally and this was not meant as a direct attack on you. I am saying this to everyone here. And I am also not insinuating that “everyone” bases link exchanges on PR – just saying that we should help one another…

I am not happy with Google PR, too.
But you can get links from pages with PR submitting articles. That will improve your PR.
I have submitted articles to some distributers that are on PR 6 sites now.
Articles are a great way to go. I write/submit articles for myself and/or my clients daily.
Woot. Someone mentioned my site (ContentTycoon.com).
I get emails daily for recips too (oh and spams to join every darn affiliate program in the gambling biz). I tend to ignore them, because I’ve got too many other things to do.
This question may sound slightly noobish but if you submit your article to 5 directories, do you have to rewrite it 5 times or do you send the same one to all of them and they have to worry about the duplicate content?

I guess that means you don´t have to rewrite the article everytime you submit to an article directory. Otherwise you´d have to rewrite it a 100 times?

But most sites asking for link exchange are … well … naff.

- blogging – posting in blogs
- forums – posting in forums
I can comment on the blogs. I have high PR backlinks from blogs which does certainly help. But do it carefully and don´t spam. Add useful comments. Make sure that the blog could draw visitors that may convert. I.e. I posted in a blog post that discussed licking toads which gave me a PR 4 backlink but I am not sure wether this necessarily helped in terms of SEO, conversions. :wink-wink
